Similar but I like the Utah Hive by itself. Utah Venom, Mammoth, Saltine Crackers (I kid).

My projection for 3pt percentage is free throw rate divided by 2 minus 4. Castle would be a 34% 3 pt shooter. That's right on the edge but I am taking him at 8.

Sheppard could ironically be the player with the best career in this draft. Lots of average players throughout Castle is growing on me, the free throw rate sticks out as something good and historically it is an indicator of learning to shoot long range. We can afford to be bad for a year with...

Lower end picks you worry about fit more. Top picks it is the other way around.

Stephon Castle free throw rate is good/decent. Hmm...maybe... he can become a decent 3 pt shooter. We want to lose next year so maybe you should pick him and let him develop his shot. We have bigs who can shoot so maybe you play an inverted lineup.

It's the rotation player or bust draft. Lots of flaws out of there. How good is your program at developing a player even with deep issues?

Ulrich hasn't played in a competitive environment. That is a huge risk, but he has signs of all the tools. Not one by itself is elite but put them all together he does have chance to be a high end player. You have to use your imagination in this draft and the youngest player developing...

    2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I would pick up Ulrich with the second rounder. Give him a year or two to develop. Same logic with Cody Williams, need time to develop play all the rookies so that the Jazz aren't winning next year. Also Reed Sheppard and Castle would need time to develop too so I would be tempted to pick...

Kentucky guards tend to over perform. So maybe there's some willingness to turn a blind eye to Shep but then again he is good guard and there are some hints.

Counter-intuitive approach but more picks near the middle of draft the better. More swings, especially if you don't know where the star will emerge from.

    Offseason Plan + Lauri Thread

If Ainge is looking for trades as our primary way to get better we have to get off the OKC pick obligation. Does this mean we trade 8 to go to 12 to get off the obligation?

The Markkanen, Hendricks, Kessler front court

When your plan to involves taking swings in the draft, it could be 2 years or it could be 10 years to get where you want to be. You want to end up with the best players to win, but that just doesn't easily in a competitive league. I would modify that approach. The best reasonable top players...

I was torn. I wanted Taylor, Brice and GG in the draft. Got two out of three though.
