What's new

2024 Vegas Summer League Thread

What was alarming to me is just how slow Dillingham looked. We know he's small and there will be challenges with that, but you would think he's at least got to be one of the quicker guys in the league at his size. Can't say that appears to be the case.

Kind of felt like MIN thought he could come in and help their offense right away. He should look better by playing with a better supporting cast, but that trade isn't looking great atm.
I'm sure he will be better, but Minny has a top tier SL team. Just found it funny people acted like he would be ready right away as a scorer. Hes shifty, but he isn't that bursty. He's going to have a long adjustment period

Funny moment from summer league... kid who is like 10ish years old with parents in Rob's first game just randomly yells "Rob you are so shifty". Whole section laughs with a weird cringe.

The kids love Rob still.

... he would be my MPV ...

Pretty sure I heard on some podcast that Dillingham is dealing with an ankle or some such issue. Maybe he's a disappointment, but let's at least wait until the season to see.

One things that has always impressed me with the summer league is how much better, in general, guys look after having a year of NBA basketball experience. I think having the opportunity to train with NBA trainers and development staff and play against NBA players seems to have a huge impact.

Anyone else enjoy watching Jay Huff play on Orlando? Him and Matas have been fun as hell to watch play. I mean, there's a bunch of guys that have been fun to watch during summer league.

Edey will be a beast in the league if he stays healthy. Castle, Pippen, Shannon and a bunch of dudes I can't think of their names off the top of my head look pretty solid.

Yeah but Curry and Book.

And Lillard and Kyrie.
Reed ain't them. He needs to be on a team where he us the third most dangerous option, where if you put your top defender on him you are sacrificing somewhere else. Then you are going to need to hide him on defense. Good maybe great player, but you need to engineer around him. I'm pretty happy with Cody.

Yeah I’m happy with Cody as well.

I just think Reed has Booker potential, that’s all.
