What's new

Anybody here habitually wear sunblock?

I keep hearing that you should, and living in Texas it's pretty damn sunny. So do any of you guys do it?

Sidebar: Anyone here know how to plant snap peas? Mine keep dying in my garden and I can't figure out what's going on.

Yep, because here in Australia, not only is it pretty damn sunny (although the summer just gone was an exception), but the Government has been running advertising campaigns for 30 years reminding everyone to "slip, slop, slap" (slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat) in an attempt to reduce rates of skin cancer, which kills more Australians each year than vehicle accidents.

Slip, Slop, Slap advert

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Australians are four times more likely to develop a skin cancer than any other form of cancer. At least two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. Over 1,000 Australians are treated for skin cancer every day and over 1,850 Australians die from skin cancer each year.

It doesn't help that you guys got short changed on that whole ozone thing.
