Game Thread Apr 23, 2022 02:30PM MT: Jazz vs. Mavericks - Game 4

Added to Calendar: 04-23-22

There is so much pressure on them to win this game, and we've seen all year how this team struggles in the clutch when the pressures on. I don't have a good feeling about one.

I have been reducing my attention as I fail to see any fire. Self preservation tactic. I had to check if it was 2-1 or 3-1. It legit feels like 3-1..

I'm actually quite interested in this game, because it will say everything about the Jazz. If they show no fire, this team needs to be blown up. If they do it could be a momentum changer.

Well, I think the lack of fire can be chalked up to them realizing they don't have the horses themselves. Our guys are too small weak and unathletic for playoff basketball.

I'm beginning to think we might be better off if Luka does come back. I think we'll target him on defense pretty much every time down the floor.

I don’t think he’s playing. Why? Dallas has to be feeling pretty confident. They’re killing us with what everyone before the series laughed off as being a lottery team. Why risk it? You’re looking at a second round matchup against a Booker-less Phoenix. Let your guys continue to ride the momentum and roll into the second round with a healthy Luka.

On the flip side, Quin will game plan for Luka, relieved he doesn’t have to game plan for the team that killed us twice. Then he’ll be discombobulated when he finds out Luka isn’t playing. No worries. Just continue leaving the corners open and their percentages will surely drop.

I was there in the Clippers series. The string of implosions this year is just a replay of the same movie that is the same movie again in this series. I had decided it was Quinn back then, but sometimes by postponing tough decisions (not firing QS) you poison an entire team. I think it's fair to say the team is in a worse chemistry/mental state than we were last year. It's hard to know if the players can be turned around and return to a more productive state at this point with this franchise.

Especially without Ingles. It's fair to say he was the real leader on this team, at least in the locker room.

Dallas would be stupid to play Luka. Worst case is they go back to Dallas tied 2-2.

I’m more curious to see our rotations the rest of the series. Gobert should be playing when Powell is but when he’s not he nor Whiteside should be.

Let's play butler, juancho, Pascal and NAW and go down swinging rather than just escorting them to open layups and uncontested threes. I'd much rather see a hard playing less talented team lose than all stars just coasting to a loss.
At times last night Mitchell, Conley, Royce and Bogey would have been lit up by chairs glued to the floor.
