Pistol only played 3 years with no 3 point line so it isn't exactly apples to apples but that doesn't really matter. She will hold the record and thats all that matters. Incredible.

There are only 3 more regular season games left and she averages about 30ppg. It will be close.
She needed 7pts to break the record and ended up scoring her team's first 8 pts of the game. She wanted to get the record out of the way so that it didn't effect her team's performance. Then she goes out and breaks the record on that shot, are you kidding me? She really is amazing.
WNBA really needs to figure out how to market these college stars better once they get in the league. IDK how much potential there is in women's professional sports, but they can do a lot better than they are currently doing.
She’s got to be the most popular college athlete right now. She’s incredible to watch and has to potential to put her sport on the map. Hopefully the WNBA does a good job with her. They have a potential Serena Williams on their hands.

This probably says something about us as a society but Caitlin Clark isn't even close to being the most popular college athlete. AFAIK, the current title holder is LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne whose NIL value is over $3.5 million. By comparison, Caitlin Clark's NIL value is around $800k.
She now has one game to get 18 pts to beat Pistol Pete's record.
