We omitted Philly which was kind of hilarious. I think those options have been discussed. I think both of us assumed the other would bring it up and then it was late so neither mentioned it... that is still very much an option.

I'll take a listen later on tonight.

With that said whoever takes on Lauri better have a bunch of cap flexibility. In hindsight Lauri probably shouldn't be making $46 mil next season especially when SGA will "only" be making $38 mil. Of the list above, Detroit might be the best fit as Cade is the only one currently signed to a long term deal on that roster.

I remember who 2 years ago everybody was sure that Lauri perfectly fits our rebuild timeline and should be retained at any cost.... Not anymore.

I guess in two years we will start talking that Kessler does not fit it either and needs to get traded.

Way rather have lauri on his deal than PG13 on his though. PG13 gonna be making close to 60 million as a 38 year old. Lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol 16 points per game last season. Lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol Hella injured. Lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol
Meanwhile Damian Lillard over there making over 54 million next season and 58.5 million the season after that as a 36 year old. Lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol

Would be pretty nice to be a hall of fame nba basketball player. I love playing basketball and these contracts are insane.

Some comments on the mentioned destinations, as well as fake incoming package. In all packages I'm aiming for a 2-3 FRP value:

DET - Think they make a ton of sense as a a Lauri buyer.....don't really love what they have to offer. Would prefer Ivey and Holland over their future picks, but maybe we get one of Ivey/Holland and then their 26 as the swap pick we need?
Harris+Holland+Future protected FRP

POR - Like them as a buyer, would love to have their 2026 as the potential for a disappointing season is high.
Ayton + Thybulle + #11 + 26 first swap (find a way)

TOR - Another buyer that makes sense, they need to make some kind of trade. FYI, they can keep Poetl and S&T Boucher into the deal. This would help us get more pick compensation. I like this a lot if you can move Barrett.
Barrett + Boucher + #9 + Future protected FRP

PHX - They make sense as a Lauri destination. Is Lauri for KD even value wise?
Durant + Return one of the crappy first swaps

SAS - I think Durant makes a lot more sense for them than Lauri. They have enough picks to get it done. Might put more priority on the 2026 ATL pick than their #14 pick tbh. I would go hard for #2 if it's possible. Would trade Lauri, #5, and #21 without expecting #14 back.
Barnes + Johnson + #14 swapped for #21 + 26 FRP

HOU - Don't think they make sense as a Lauri buyer, but they could be a Durant team. Don't mind Green coming back as salary matching. Would probably prioritize Shep and Smith over their #10. Guess it depends on who is there.
Green + Sheppard + Smith

ORL - Doesn't really work. But we should be trade partners with Key/Sexton/Clarkson

MIA - Makes most sense in Durant trade. They have enough future picks and prospects to get it done. Think Jaime and Jovic are preferred over highly protected first.
Rozier + Robinson + Jacquez + Jovic + Future protected FRP

Not sure I understand all the lol's but yeah Philly and Milwuakee have bad contracts in Dame/PG, although that doesn't make Lauri's any better. Those teams made bad mistakes trying to add a #2 next to their superstar.

I'd trade Lauri for PG if Philly hands over their lottery pick which at this point doesn't appear to be the case. I wouldn't trade Lauri for PG if it's just to move up two spots.

The lol's are laughing at the horrendous contracts that those teams have on their hands.
Lauri is overpaid but really good and in his prime.

Meh. There is worse out there. We would have to really believe that Holland or Ausar or Ivey are future all stars. I am not sold but could be.
POR - Like them as a buyer, would love to have their 2026 as the potential for a disappointing season is high.

What a disappointment after this trade is made and Portland rises.

Same as above. Keep Lauri and rebuild his value if this is all you get.
PHX - They make sense as a Lauri destination. Is Lauri for KD even value wise?
Durant + Return one of the crappy first swaps
Pass. Phx doesn't have anything to give up.

Go hard after #2. Thats the carrot I chase. Sweeten the deal if you must but get #2. Otherwise, just rebuild his value.

Decent value here.

Pass

Pass.

Talk about underwhelming.
Yeah, you're probably right. I would want the Bucks to go get more picks from a 3rd team. But the 2031 is enticing. Giannis will be ancient by then. That pick is better than a couple of late picks.

The main point is am trying to make is that the Bucks could choose to reload with Lauri or someone else instead of shipping off Giannis.
