Jackpotting Around Podcast: Episode 38 - Fake Trade Ideas - Lauri Markkanen

It's one pick when he's 36 and two picks that can get swapped by another team. You are a moron.

Lauri has minimal value right now after last year. If they're trading him this offseason, they're not getting much for a 7 foot guy with back problems who has never played in the postseason and was not good last year but has four near max years left on his deal.

Can Lauri hang on the court against the sophisticated defensive schemes used in the postseason given that he can't pass at all? Who knows, he's never played in the postseason. Can Lauri be part of a defense good enough of winning in the postseason? No one knows. Can Lauri stay healthy for a long postseason run considering how injury-prone he is? Ehhhhh.

I think a Lauri trade is more likely after that Austin Ainge presser. Surely we're not trying to tank w/Lauri without some manipulation.

One must be true:

1) We trade Lauri
2) We trade for another star to add to Lauri
3) Cold blooded liar (respect)
If we played Lauri all 82 games this past season how many more games do you think the Jazz win? The West is still stacked. They can lose enough games to keep their pick without tanking as aggresively as they did. Or they can figure out how to trade Sexton/Collins and be fine just playing a ton of rookie contract players w/ Lauri.

If he maintained the lower level of play that's probably 4-6 wins. Somebody needs to be traded if you want to tank, that's for sure. Would be malpractice to keep the vets and not tank.
