It's all just labels really, but I think Zanik was considered lead GM/Prez of Bball Ops. David Morway was assistant GM, so I'm guessing Morway is being replaced or moved to a different role. JZ is probably going to continue to be the lead scout/relationship manager (former agent, his strength is considered his knowledge of what is going on with other teams/agents/players) and AA will be the person who runs what the team does in terms of basketball.Who was the existing Prez of Bball ops?
Bro, the team was a family operation during the Miller era as well.Haven't been real happy with his fathers tenure so far, blew up the 2nd best squad we've ever had and put out 3 seasons of junk since with no real light at the end of the tunnel. Not a fan of turning it into a family business. But at least the Celtics have done well, here's hoping Austin was a big part of that.
All because of Austin, I’m sure.Nepo Baby, sure, but the Celtics have been a great run team and Austin Ainge was a legit college lever player.

At least this family operation is one of basketball lifers.
There is basically no way to tell if he is good at his job or not. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Ainge had already retired though. I don't think he wants to be a GM forever. It wouldn't surprise me for him to have some type of succession plan in place. Or maybe Austin just wants to live in Utah and his Dad is doing him a solid.
Check their late firstsThe best 2nd rounder the Celtics have drafted in the last decade is Semi Ojeleye...
But he hasnt only worked for his dad....The first part is true, but only working for your dad isn’t a great look. It doesn’t make him a bad nepo baby by default, but I’d trust a new name I haven’t heard of over someone’s son.
