If we are going to go the Donovan is a PG and ball dominant player route, at least hire the best coach in the business at running that system.

You mean the guy who doesn't coach either side of the ball but simply roles the ball on the court like a gym teacher and takes a break while the boys are running around the gym. Not the guy I want.
Yeah, that's what Utah has been trending towards, so might as well hire the guy who is the best at it in the NBA.

It would give Donovan the best stats possible (and probably Rudy as well, Dantoni helped maximize Capela). Ultimately that's whats going to keep Donovan the happiest. He gets his flowers and gets his recognition.

And D'Antoni kicked our asses in the playoffs with Houston.....

I loved Snyder's blender system when Utah was able to put a lot of secondary type playmakers on the floor, but that isnt going to be a possibility anymore. I think we have to live with Donovan hero ball. Might as well get the guy who can coach that offensive system efficiently as possible.

Could not agree more. Our blender system was my favorite system to watch in years of being a Jazz fan and what made me a fan of Snyder. The move to a more D'Antoni system has been painful to watch. And I dont think the D'Antoni approach will ever win a title.

I’d rather not go for a retread. We are going to get somebody pre-approved by Spida.

Mike is getting the Sixers job once they can get Doc to walk away from his money (he has a BIG deal). I think that is what is holding up the Hornets on their coaching search.

Isn't he 105 years old?
Well, he's 71. I think you're right though, that's probably too old to be an NBA coach. Things have changed and there's no way someone 70+ years old could possibly be expected to keep up.

He should do something more age appropriate like maybe President of the United States.

Andy Larsen mentioned D'Antoni as a possible replacement if Quin decides not to come back...said if they are going to build around Donovan as a scoring guard with a bunch of wings around him, D'Antoni's offense that he ran with Harden would make a lot of sense for the Jazz. He also mentioned Terry Stotts as a possibility. Said he doesn't think they would make Alex Jensen the head coach.

Jensen is Rudy's guy so Donovan would never let that hire happe.

Gameface sayeth verily that Michael Andrew D’Antonio ought speculate on age-appropriate contingencies like Presidential incumbency. Lo! The House of Commons in England seeks men of fortitude and character, they shall pay pence and pound to acquire Michael’s services.
