KOC says it's important that the Jazz play "meaningful" games. Used tonight's game as an example.

KOC says the Jazz don't believe in buyouts as an organization. Don't believe in giving anybody what they don't earn.

KOC said his surprised & impressed on what Ty has been able to do in playing as many players as much as he has.

I'm fine with the fact that we stood pat and agree with KOC's line of thinking for the most part. But keeping Miles and/or Howard does nothing for us come draft night as, unless I'm mistaken, we can't officially trade them (or make a trade until after July 1st or something --I recall the Celts/Sonics trade with Ray Allen). For me, we could have still played competitive games as he mentioned but parted with one of them, probably Miles most of all since he's the antithesis of competitive.

They both expire giving us more cap room. Trades offered to the Jazz may have been taking on multiple year contracts. More cap room equals more flexibility in FA and trading.

Yeah, my issue isn't with not acquiring players as much as it is with keeping Bell and Miles around to take minutes from Burks.

Correct. I was thinking though that they're two small contracts that we may need to mix and match salaries (25%). Once they expire, the only small contract we have left (of someone we really want to trade) is Bell and God knows no one will want him.

I'm sure KOC was trying to trade Miles and/or Howard, as was rumored. But those guys were not other teams' first options. The Clippers got Nick Young, who I bet they preferred over either Miles or Howard. The Nets got Gerald Wallace, which was an absolutely horrible, desperate move considering what they gave up, but I'm sure they had him higher on their list than our guys.

I even understand KOC's thinking on holding on to Jefferson, since his expiring next year will likely net us more than trading him this year would. I'm willing to bet there was a big market for Millsap. The fact we didn't trade him shows that KOC values him quite a bit, IMO.

I'm ok with Howard and CJ staying. It's Bell I can't stand. And I'm at odds with KOC on that one. If a buyout is the only way to get rid of him, then buy the %^$& out! He's a cancer. Ty is spineless and won't stand up to him. Getting rid of Raja would send a positive message..."you can't bitch and get away with it. It may take us a few days to arrange your departure, but you'll be gone."

Where are all the pauses and stutters? Does tweeter not pick those up?

You could copy and paste those quotes and use them year after year after year.

Wash, rinse, and repeat.

KOC says "we want our team to be as mediocre as possible. I'm proud that Ty likes to play the vets even if it means we lose anyway. Raja is excellent at teaching Burks how to be effective on the court. One day Burks will be the superstar for another team. I hope our fans stayed tuned to the next year. It'll get better I promise!"
