SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will host a public scrimmage on October 8 to give fans a chance to see the new team in action.

The event will be held at 11 am at Vivint Arena, with doors opening at 10:30 am, and will be free to the public.

“We are excited to welcome fans back to Vivint Arena for a first look at this new beginning of Jazz basketball,” Jazz president Jim Olson said in a release from the team. “We always look forward to bringing the community together around our team, and the intersquad scrimmage will be a fun way to kick off the new season with everyone invited.”

The event will include on-court interviews with head coach Will Hardy and a select number of Jazz players according to the team.

The Jazz will also unveil one of two new basketball courts at the scrimmage.

“With the debut of the new court, the iconic Jazz Note is featured in the center with a black apron and yellow UTAH JAZZ wordmark,” the release read. “The wood paneling is uniquely angled rather than the typical horizontal look, flowing in conjunction with the Jazz Note that is rendered in chrome.”

Jazz fans will get a look at the new faces on the roster at the scrimmage including Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Kelly Olynyk, and rookies Ochaci Agbaji, Walker Kessler, and Simone Fontecchio, all of whom joined the team this summer.

Of the 20 players currently on the @utahjazz roster, 14 are new to the team this year.

Complimentary parking is available at Park Place, which is located northeast of the main arena entrance according to the team. Select concession stands will be open on the main concourse for fans looking to eat at the scrimmage.

The open scrimmage will also be streamed live on UtahJazz.com and the Utah Jazz YouTube channel.
