SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz rookie guard Rayjon Tucker broke out by scoring nine points during the third quarter against the San Antonio Spurs.

Tucker and the Jazz played against the Spurs in the final of eight seeding games prior to the postseason inside the NBA’s bubble in Florida.

After scoring only two points on 0-3 shooting in the first half, Tucker scored nine points on 4-6 field goals during opening 12 minutes of the second half.


The Jazz guard was 1-3 from downtown but his made triple came on a buzzer-beating shot late in the quarter.

Through three quarters, Tucker had 11 points on 4-9 shooting, including 2-2 from the free throw line.

He added 2 rebounds in 12 minutes of game time.

As the two squads went to the bench in preparation for the final quarter of action, the Jazz held an 87-77 advantage.

The contest against the Spurs was Tucker’s 20th game played for Utah during the 2019-20 season. He’s averaged 2.3 points on 45.2 percent shooting, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.2 assists in 7.2 minutes per game.

The Jazz signed the Little Rock product in December 2019. Prior to signing with Utah, Tucker played for the G League’s Milwaukee Herd.
