NBA writer Larry Coon Not Much Of A Believer In The Jazz

I submitted a comment during Larry Coon's chat today trying to fish for some Jazz love but instead he pissed all over my gums, while my teeth were on fire, by touting the Lakers to make the playoffs next year:

"If Portland loses Aldridge to FA, I think you could construct a strong argument that Portland and Dallas could easily be two WC teams that do not make the playoffs in 2016. What 2 teams could replace them?"

Larry Coon
"Aldridge’s destination could have a lot to do with it. For example, if Aldridge goes to the Lakers, they keep their draft pick & get someone who’s immediately productive, Randle comes back strong, Kobe comes back as a productive player, and Mitch Kupchak assembles a reasonable supporting cast, then I can see them as a low playoff seed next year (I know…that’s a lot of “ifs.”)

And the obvious other answer is OKC."

I'm so pissed... The Lakers??! I have lost all respect for this man.

Not one mention of Utah and somehow he's hating? Great thread batlicker!!

Holy imagined indignity, Batman! This is an outrage. It's stunning that a national journalist would pander to the big markets. You could have knocked me over with a feather. The worst part is that his opinion will be so incredibly influential in the eventual outcome. I'm pissed too!

BTW, the above is sarcasm.

So a cap specialist said Lakers will make it IF.... and Okc one of the best teams over the past 5 years might make it as well... Good thing it's just his option. Just makes me more excited to watch the Jazz off season and the Jazz next year!! It's just going to mean a whole lot more after the Jazz make it to the Playoff's!!

Also, look at what OKC does this off season... If Durrant can't get healthy, I think there in the running for maybe 7-8 place just like this past year.

Even if Kobe comes back and they sign LA, I still don't think that's a Playoff team. Kobe shoot 39% last year. Randle might come back but doesn't he play PF? Isn't LA a PF? Also, if there's a few jumps in the draft order, Lakers might have to convey there pick to the 76ers. Too many IF's, for Lakers. Do I think the NBA would allow Lakers to fall out of the top 5, NO. But, there a lot to watch.

I also think teams to watch this off season and there moves. Memphis with Gasol, Spurs with there big 3, NO with Holiday, Gordon, O. Aski, CLippers with D. Jordan might also shake up the Playoff Race.

I don't think Aldridge will waste the rest of his prime helping a rebuilding Lakers squad, let alone sacrifice half his shots so Kobe can take his "entitlement" shots as he tries to move up the all time scoring list.
Coon should stick to salary cap issues.

Coon is an LA guy. I think the fact that he didn't mention us really says nothing about his thoughts about our team. Let's calm down and just decide to not be "that guy".

1. kobe is finished.

2. randle? dude hasn't even played enough to be even considered a sophmore. he's still a rookie in my book coming into next year.

guys on something.
