I watched a lot of the Pistons this year and Cade is a very good player, but miscast as a franchise #1 option, when he should really be a role player. I'm not sure how much of his high usage/low efficiency was due to his supporting cast and out of necessity vs him wanting to be the guy. My feeling when watching was it was out of necessity, so I would be ok with the Jazz making a run at him, but no idea why Detroit would do that. I'm not sure what I would be willing to give up, but probably not enough for Detroit to even consider it.
I'm warming up to the idea of Giddey based on the numbers I provided earlier in this thread. For those that missed it, he is a huge positive on offense, helps the offense to move the ball when he is on the court, and it actually outweighs his negative effect on defense. I don't love weighing in on things that I don't know the details, but I think the most logical explanation for what happened with the underage girl is that she lied about her age and he didn't know. It's difficult for me to overcome my biases against Giddey, and so I'm still not there as far as the Jazz going after him, but I'm more open to it than I have been in the past.
