Utah drains 26 three-pointers en route to 46-point blowout

The Utah Jazz quickly built a 40-point lead and never took their foot off the gas. The offense was firing on all cylinders. Decisive drives, crisp passing, and hot shooting had the Jazz on a roll early, and that momentum only swelled as the game clock methodically ticked down towards 00:00.

It was the 7:01 mark of the 1st quarter, and Joseph Howarth Ingles had already drilled his third three-pointer of the game. The trash talking got going early, and against this Utah Jazz team, that’s never a good sign.

The Jazz continued to carve through Orlando’s defense with unconscious precision, and got any looks they wanted. Shots from deep, particularly the corners, are the bread and butter of this offense (the Jazz lead the league in corner threes attempted per game - from BOTH corners), and that trend continued tonight. 10 different Jazz men hit at least one three-pointer tonight.

Donovan Mitchell (6/7 from deep), Joe Ingles (5/7), Bojan Bogdanovic (4/6), and Jordan Clarkson (3/6) did most of the damage from outside, while Rudy Gobert, as usual, dominated the paint and controlled half of the court. Gobert finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, and an assist.

Every player that suited up saw the court tonight, and Quin Snyder’s system was seamlessly executed no matter what the lineup combination.

Miye Oni played a team-high 25:55 and was the elder statesman of bench lineups. He had this beautiful dribble-drive for a dunk:

And Ersan Ilyasova hit 2 threes, including this catch-and-shoot beauty off a Clarkson pass:

Great teams get wins like this one. The W in the win column is always nice, but additional rest for the top of the rotation is key down the stretch of an NBA season, especially with how condensed this season is. Orlando only played 8 men tonight, and that quality playing time for the end of the rotation could pay huge dividends in a postseason series.

The Jazz are a steam roller right now. #TakeNote
