You would keep Gobert over adding an All Star? You realize that Butler's level of play is Gobert's best case scenario?

I love Butler. Maybe second after Kawhi in that kind of player list. But you don't trade a player like Rudy when you have a chance to turn him into a monumental center. You just don't. Esprcially when he is so willing to get even better. Staying in town for summer instead of NT. I would feel insulted. Get rid of players that you don't get or plan to get anyhting out of instead. Don't have to be Butler.
Chicago isn't going to dump him, and the Jazz don't have the spare assets to get it done. But I would be thrilled to have Jimmy Butler.
I recall you driving the JButler bus during his draft. You were loud and consistent.
I like believing that his injuries were based on coming into a season where the league is more ready to him than before without being prepared induvidually fitness level-wise and instead coming off a tough NT schedule. His plans for this summer corrects my belief.I worry that Rudy has the body type that will be injured 1/4 to 1/3 of the season, every season (with starters mins). This should be more concerning but doesn't see much attention.

Maybe he can learn alternative and smarter ways to cover space. He can use his step length against small players by keeping smarter positions since his three steps to reach the shooting spot of the guard means the guard's 5-6 steps. It will also give him extra time to react.Being in shape can only take you so far though, and when your limbs are that long... your center of gravity is so high... your motor runs so fast... when your ankle-to-hip length is like 4.5 feet long... those things provides a lot of lateral movement and torque on those knees and ankles. very tall, lanky, skinny guys (and extremely heavy guys) get injured a lot. Rudy is the definition of lanky, and is IMO likely to get significantly hurt each season if he's subjected to 35 mins a night.
