The usual summer shenanigans begins. This year, we have a little twist, so read the rules below.
10 rounds, modified snake draft (eg, 1-12, 12-1, 12-1, 1-12, 12-1, 1-12, 12-1, 1-12, 12-1, 1-12 if 12 participants)

Each participant must draft one player WHO WAS DRAFTED within each of the following eras with their first five picks...in no particular order:
*79 draft and prior
*1980 draft through 1989 draft
*1990 draft through 1999 draft
*2000 draft through 2009 draft
*2010 draft through present seasons

For the remaining five players needed to fill out a roster, participants may draft players from whichever era they want.

NOTE: WHEN DRAFTING, PARTICIPANTS MUST STATE THE SEASON FOR THE PLAYER THEY ARE DRAFTING. THERE IS A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1986-1987 MJ AND 1996-1997 MJ. And oh yeah, state the entire season the way I just did. Don't say '88 MJ. Say 1987-88 MJ or 1988-89 MJ so the season is clear. Moreover, a player only exists once. I can not draft '97 MJ while someone else drafts '88 MJ. Lastly, to be clear, just because you are drafting a certain player based on their actual draft year does not mean you are getting that year’s rookie version of the player. You must state the version of the player you are getting though by stating the season.

Each participant has 24 hours to make their selection. Try to make it as quickly as possible, or message your selection to someone not in the draft for them to post, if you're about to go to bed or something.

Can we just simplify this and base it on the year they were actually drafted? Jordan would qualify as 80's. Duncan would qualify as 90's. Simple, straightforward. Then the person chooses what version of that player once drafted (e.g. '95-'96 Jordan, like would normally be the case).

We can also just jettison this condition if it's too complicated and do it old-school. The point was simply to get some variety in the rosters.
