What's new

Welcome to Election Day 2024,

Saw this and thought it was pretty funny:
We already have our first preview of election results, with the tiny northern New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch kicking off Election Day at midnight (as soon as legally permissible) to vote. The town's six registered voters — four Republicans, two undeclared — were split: three for Harris, and three for Trump.

Stop the count!

Boy Republicans are hell-bent on not letting people vote. I guess if they can control which ballots get counted they can control the outcome. How very inclusive and democratic of them, right?

Do you read your own linked articles?

"So far, elections officials have confirmed that 17% are fraudulent"

Maybe Republicans wouldn't have to file so many challenges if Democrats weren't so prone to fraud.

Who’s propaganda? The stuff you listen to or 72% of all voters listen to the exact same propaganda.

You can’t fathom that people might not be in a great situation right now?
No, that is the perception no doubt. And prices are still high, even though inflation itself has flattened out. It doesn't mean prices have come down, they are just staying at a steady high rate. So everyone is feeling it, absolutely. But you have to admit that the right constantly spewing crap about the bad things as propaganda has a negative impact on perceptions even on the things that are going good or getting better, such as inflation coming down, nearly full employment everywhere, etc. Just like if you tell a kid often enough that he is a bad person, he will come to believe it regardless of the truth.

Here is one article showing a decent look at both sides of the equation.

Here is another:

Here is an article that talks about partisanship in perception of the economy and how they are doing:

So it is a mixed bag at best. But perception is their reality, that is how it works. Regardless if it is driven by data or propaganda. It is how people feel, and that is real enough.

Propaganda works.
It also can be interpreted differently. I know of many people unhappy that Trump is still running instead of being behind bars. Or that their health care is being taken away by republicans. Being angry over the state of the country doesn’t translate to being a net gain in favor of republicans.

Anyone thinking that this is going well just need to check Donald’s social media feed where he’s already whining about massive voter fraud in PA. lol

His campaign and lawyers can always lie but Donald panicking is always the truest tell for how things are going for him. The next thing he’ll do is claim that he never knew Pennsylvania and that she was a horse face who begged like a dog.

Roh oh!

Just as I said, this isn’t going to be close. People are tired of Trump. The GOP has shed its educated base for the morons and kooks who aren’t nearly as reliable. He has alienated over the past decade too many suburban voters. There just aren’t enough ruralists to offset these suburban loses.

Ironically, Haley wouldn’t have had this problem near to the extent of Trump.
