What's new

Would you love it or hate it? State your preferences for the draft...

Thrilled:

Stanley Johnson
Kaminsky
Turner

Very Ok With:

Obure
Booker
WCS
Looney
Portis

Eh (just wouldn't quite understand the pick):

Payne
Grant (really any of the PGs)

Meh:

Lyles
Dekker
Mine is just like this except I swap oubre and turners positions.

No KAT, Jahlil, Russell, Mudiay, Winslow, Porz, Hezonja, WCS- Would be happy to have almost all of them. Mudiay/Jahlil being the two I don't love, but they'd obviously be too talented to pass on.

I'm ecstatic, absolutely love our pick:- Turner seems like the best bet at this point, would secure our rim protection and give us a bit of spacing. Johnson is the only guy in our range I could really see being a real star level player.
Johnson
Turner

Could be better, but I like it:- Kaminsky strikes me as the low risk/reward version of Turner, certainly wouldn't mind it. Oubre has a lot of talent but I don't fully trust it. Looney seems like a safe backup forward pick, could develop into a bit more, will defend and rebound regardless.
Kaminsky
Oubre
Looney

I don't hate it but... damn... really?- I like RHJ, but we don't need a wing that can't shoot. Dekker I don't mind I just can't see him as anything other than a solid bench guy, same for Portis. (Bench as in not like a 3-rotation big guy type bench guy)
RHJ
Portis
Dekker

I kind of do hate it, I hope DL knows what he's doing- The PG's just don't really make sense (though Grant I could maybe see). Don't really like Lyles game. Anderson seems like a big reach.
Grant
Lyles
Anderson
Payne
Jones

I'm ecstatic, absolutely love our pick:
Myles Turner
Kelly Oubre

Could be better, but I like it:
Frank Kaminsky
Devin Booker
Kevon Looney
Stanley Johnson

I don't hate it but... damn... really?
Bobby Portis

I kind of do hate it, I hope DL knows what he's doing
Willie Cauley-Stein
Trey Lyles
Cameron Payne
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Sam Dekker
Jerian Grant
RJ Hunter
Tyus Jones

As I dont follow them all I'll keep it short-
Be over the moon if we trade up, be happy with Turner, Booker, Johnson

Bump! Come on guys... 2 days to the draft. Lets see who you would prefer for the Jazz to take.

If the Jazz trade back a bit I'm on the RHJ bandwagon. If the coaches can improve his shot he is a fantastic player. Don't like him at 12 though.

Ecstatic with no one in realistic range. (Unless Winslow fell, ya right)

Could be interesting piece - Frank, Stan

Meh - Oubre, Turner, WCS, Portis, Lyles, Booker, Lyles, Payne, Looney

My makes-no-sense-but-I-just-hate-them - Looney and Turner

Outside of replacing Trey (which ain't gonna happen...and I know I just made colton's head explode), the Jazz probably need a big the most. I'm happy with the wings; Jazz have three + Jingles and Millsap. But Utah has only Booker behind the starters. I'd be happy with Turner or WCS. Not unhappy if they trade down for Portis.

Ace Bailey or Dylan Harper
-Could be better, but I like it
Tre Johnson or VJ Edgecombe
-I don't hate it but... damn... really?
Jeremiah Fears
-I kinda do hate it, I hope DL knows what he's doing
Anyone else

I'm expecting the Jazz to draft Ace or Tre. If those guys aren't available at #5 and the Jazz decide they want Edgecombe or Fears, I'd try to make peace with it. To me there are 4 clear talents at the top of this draft, and if there's a 5th it might actually be Essengue ahead of Edgecombe, Fears and Kon, imo. I'm still waiting for the Euros to finish their season and engage in the pre-draft process.

If the Jazz somehow made a bold move and got Harper, I'd be amazed.

If the Jazz ended up with Kon Knueppel, I'd be disappointed. Kon is a great shooter, but as far as the intangibles are concerned it wouldn't surprise me if Hugo Gonzales is actually just as good a player.
