What's new

College Basketball '14-15......

If Byu gets in they almost certainly will be playing in one of those games. They're still on the bubble

Not a good take. A half dozen teams are on the bubble, at least, and only two play-in games. Too much time between now and then to be "almost certain." How dare you, hater.

I thought there would be a lot more talk in here about both local schools (just saw that Gonzaga lost).

I'm glad there isn't a lot of bitching about the refs in the U game, the U had their chances but rebounding and missed layups (bigs missed a few bunnies) cost the U the game. Now granted the U didn't have the home court advantage in the way of calls (37FT's to 21FT's) Chapman & Poeltl getting fouled out, and Loveridge playing with 4 fouls for about the last 8min of the game I think did have an affect but the U still controlled their own destiny and had they grabbed just one more rebound, specifically the missed FT attempt when the U was up 1, that's what cost the game IMO.

Now the foul trouble forced coach K to make rotation changes and he decided to go small (which I think was a mistake given the rebounding issues) and play 3 PG's at 5'10", 6'1" and 6'5" also doesn't help that Reyes has been absolutely atrocious vs AZ this year, well that would be an insult to the word atrocious but I think my point is made.

A lot can change in the conference tournaments.

The WCC Sucks pretty hard so...

BYU could lose to a bad team and screw themselves out of the tourney

They could win against those bad teams(whoopty frickin doo)but that's not really going to help them much

They could beat Zaga again and move up

So not really a lot. More like 3 only one of which is particularly good for BYU.

I kinda just don't even want to talk about it, but I have to say that game had the absolute most insane crazy bonkers horrible officiating of any sporting event I have seen in my lifetime.

The officials were getting creative with their horribleness. They weren't just missing 50/50 calls, somehow 100% calls that should have been for us went against us with zero explanation. There were more bad calls against us in the first 5 minutes of the game than the rest of the season combined and the pace of bad calls never slowed from there.

Absolutely dumbfounding.

Call me a homer 1,000 times, but I have zero problem saying Utah wins by 15+ if the officiating is fair. Like, seriously.

(Sorry if this has been covered in the thread. Not going back through it.)

Brekkot Chapman was completely screwed over in the Zona game. Looking back at the fouls

Foul 1- Driving to the rim they called a charge on him while the replay showed that Tarczewski was clearly moving, "not even close" said the announcer.
Foul 2 - Arizona player sets a back pick and Chapman bumps into him and they call a foul on Chapman. Minimal contact away from the ball.
Foul 3 - Stanley Johnson gets the ball back on his miss and jumps into Champan who has his arms straight up they call foul.
Foul 4- An out of control Johnson does a little hop step and runs over Chapman, they call a blocking foul.
Foul 5- Hollis-jefferson drives to the hoop and loses the ball out of bounds, phantom foul called on Chapman. Followed by Refs you suck chants.

Yeah we blew some layups and missed some shots we normally make, but good god those refs were awful.

Who knows.. maybe tonight our streak ends. We play Florida and it's Senior Night for UK. We always start our seniors on senior day and our lone seniors are THREE god awful walk-ons. We may have to dig out of an early hole. Actually, I would guess we will definitely be doing just that.

Cross y'alls hatin fingers.

Or just sit back and be part of history. (lulz)

Just to make sure I understand:

Kentucky's regular season is 31 games long-- then they have 3 games of the SEC tournament-- and then they have potentially the 6 games of March Madness? Is that how things add up to 40?

Kind of agree.. except I wouldn't be embarrassed. These kids have sacrificed themselves and played their asses off. I will be GREATLY disappointed with a loss this year, but they deserve better than any UK fan be embarrassed of anything they do from here out.
