Kanter watch

Damn, bro. You are committed.

Yes he is. And love the comment he cited that the offense should go through Enes. Umm, yea, that's going to work on a team with Westbrook and Durant. Kanter needs to find a team that will give him the Big Al treatment.

As Chuck said you don't have to go through him a lot, just a couple here and there to establish a threat. No one is saying you need to go to him every play.

I havent noticed Kanter all game.

Neither have I. Not sure if it is because I have been spoiled from watching the dominate force that is Gobert more recently. Not as bad as sticking out for all the wrong reasons Kanter did during that PHX suns game I guess.

I think the honeymoon is over. They are rarely running the PnR with him now and aren't posting him up very much either... Seems like the first couple of games they were trying to make him feel welcome and running a lot of things for him. Now Russ is just like "F* it! Give me the ball and get out of the way"...

BTW I absolutely love Westbrook's attitude. He's a beast and he knows it. Wish Dante would pick a bit of that aggression ...

edit:...and just as I said that, they start the second half by posting him up twice :D

Well the Bulls strength is in their 4 and 5 with Gasol and Noah. With Butler and Rose being out they weak with the guard spot so can't blame OKC for having Russel attacking that as much as possible.

Kanter never gets teh ball. I can only imagine what's going to happen when Durant comes back. He is getting abused by Gasol and isn't being a factor on the glass.

If the Jazz had westbrook they would become instant contenders. He plays great defense, great passing and great scoring. If you factor in how often he gets fouled he isn't as inefficient scoring as people make him out to be.

IDK how he would fair with Utah's lack of spacing though. Ibaka is huge for his success. He is one of the better midrange shooters in the NBA. I mean, he is still be great, but not as great.

With the Jazz defense Westbrook could almost outscore the other team all by himself. . .

Ibaka sure is great. He started taking 3 pointers multiple times a game this year for the first time. Would kill if Favors somehow developed that range. Even still, with the way the Jazz are currently playing defense Russel Westbrook would still be enough of a boost to push this team over the edge.

DOn't think Favors will ever get 3pt range. The arc on his shot just isn't there. Maybe the corner 3 one day.

https://stats.nba.com/player/#!/202683/tracking/defense/?SeasonSegment=Post All-Star

One stat that Kanter was terrible in was opponent field goal % allowing 50.8% when the opponents he gaurded averaged 47.4%. So far for the thunder he is keeping his opponents to 43.5% when they normally average 46.1% so that stat makes Kanter look good right now. I chalk a lot of it up to smallish sample size and the fact that Ibaka covers up a lot of his weakness (although with the Jazz I woulda thought Favors and Gobert does the same for Kanter).

I don't think Kanter did that bad vs Gasol and Noah last night on defense. They scored 25 pts on 23 baskets. Gasol in particular is very skilled offensively so that is going to happen. Also a lot of Gasol's points were not against Kanter. I do think Kanter got abused last night on the boards though. He didn't get nearly the rebounds he should have.

I've seen Kanter hustle more in the 3 OKC games I've watched since the trade than I saw in his entire Utah career.

just a natural thing to do when you start working for new employer and especially looking for new deal. Hustle is great but when you have no skill it will eventually start wearing off.
