I see Oubre as the highest risk reward of this years wing crop. He could have these attitude things you hear about, but I think talent wise he's the best of the bunch. I trust the front office to screen him well, and if he comes across as a solid guy I think he'd be great for us.

I don't like his shot. It reminds me of Luke Babbit's, kind of a set shot type thing. Babbit is playing fine ish now but its tough to create your own shot with a shot like that. I like his length and his potential I'm just not convinced he'll ever reach it.

Hmm, I never would have thought to compare him to Luke Babbitt, but I do kind of see the similarity there. Stanley Johnson is still the dream for me.

Regarding Oubre, I don't think he's that risky. He got off to a slow start at Kansas and so people underrated him a little relative to Johnson, IMO. I think the attitude issue is overblown. As long as the guy has some iq and doesn't try to rob a liquor store, I don't think the risk is that great. These things about not making a consistent effort, having maturity, etc. were some of the same things people said about Paul George as a sophomore.

Oubre is a more talented version of Rodney Hood. He's got a very similar shot, but he's younger, plays better defense, is quicker, and has more of an in-between game. His scoring instincts around the basket are close to elite. If he grows an inch or two and develops physically, we could be looking at a pretty good 2-way player--maybe a Rudy Gay who can actually shoot.

I think the biggest risk/reward wings are Winslow and Johnson, since they aren't consistent shooters and their size/strength advantage won't hold in the pros.

Johnson is away ahead of Winslow in terms of floor.. And ceiling. Shouldn't be a conversation.

Johnson is intriguing as a power-3. His shooting has dropped off, and he's not as quick and explosive as the top wings in the NBA, IMO. The other wings can all guard 2s. Not sure if that applies to Johnson. He obviously looks like the best post defender and rebounder.

If Booker has real ball skills, he could turn out to be one of the top 5 picks for the Jazz in this draft. He has good size for a combo guard.

Whether or not Oubre's attitude issue is overblown is a debate....none of us know him personally and aren't with him in the locker room. What's pretty clear though is that DL and the current Jazz FO rank character/work ethic, etc, pretty high. IIRC we went out and got Gobert largely because of the positive attitude he displayed while he was working out for the Jazz during the draft.

I actually think DL ranks character quite a bit higher than KOC ... KOC had often said that we won't win a Championship with a team of boy scouts, but ever since DL had been the GM all he's said is character, character, character.

Booker ahead of Looney & Turner?

Interesting....

Umm, you are not surprised that he has Ky players ahead of other guys are you? He also has WCS over Porzingis. Porzingis is two years younger and many people think if he played college ball he would be talked about as the first pick.

Oh.. didn't notice that..

I can't be the only one who hates Looney's game. He goes wayyyyy too long without actually doing anything to be worthy of a top ten pick. Frequently looks disengaged.

Jazz seem to be getting locked in to a pick in the 8 -10 range. If they're bringing Tomic over, they may be conceding that getting a big in this draft is very unlikely....or, they might be getting in a position trade Tomic as part of a move-up strategy.

I'm a fan of WCS, but there's no way I pick him before Porzingis. Can you imagine the Jazz with Gobert, Favors, Tomic, Porzingis and Booker? Holy ****. That's a fun as hell front court that can match up with most any lineup that can be rolled out at them. Go big, small, shooters, defense? Whatever you need. . . we got that.

I think he's being misused and under-utilized. A lot of it is because of their guards being ball-hoggy.
