Dont Forget About Favors

All the talk is about Gobert, but Favors has been playing at All Star level since his move to PF. We have three incredible players in Gobert, Favors, and Hayward with a kid full of potential in Exum.

I think Favors will be our first All Star from this group.

If Utah can keep this pace next year (winning record), I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Hayward, Favors, & Gobert. I'd agree, the Jazz have a bright future and will be a team to beat the next few years!! If they could land a max type player this off season (middleton, Butler, Leonard, or Green) mixed in with another Lotto pick, growth from all our rookies....easy a contending team next year. Look at who the Jazz have beat this past month.

Unfortunately, PF is way too strong for Favors to be at that level. (LMA, Griffin, Duncan, Dirk, unibrow just in the west) Unfortunately the offense matters much more for allstar. He has a ways to go before being considered an all star. He has been playing great though, and I have no complaints

You mix Kawhi in with this group, nobody would score a bucket on us:

PG - Exum
SG - Hayward
SF - Kawhi
PF - Favors
C - Gobert

Burks
Burke
Hood
Booker
Elijah
Ingles
(big)

We'd have to be the longest team in the league. Swap out Ingles with another dead-eye shooter and add a solid backup big and let's rock.

Tomic and the 2015 draft pick.

Hate to be the party pooper, but we ain't getting a max player to come to Utah...not unless we pay one of the players in the next tier down max money to play in Utah.

That's one of the things that pushed Deron out. He couldn't get anyone to join him.

Also, to get a player at that level, Utah has to renounce Bookers contract. So cross him off the depth chart. My hope is to sign Tomic and our pick.

I might be in the minority but I don't think the Jazz will or need to make a big splash in FA this year. Bring over Tomic, Draft a backup PG or SF. Trade Trey and some picks for a backup at the other SG/SF, whichever you don't draft.
.
That to me would be an excellent off season.

Favors is averaging 19 and 9 since switching to PF. With a little improvement in Exum's pick and roll offense, Favors could get up to 24 pts a night pretty easily.

Favors will be our first all star. I put him at 23 and 9 next year. He will be an all star next feb.

This. We have our core. I think we have 3-4 all stars on this team already. We need pieces that complement Favors, Hayward, Exum and Gobert.

Favs has been a beast. Frickin love the way he plays. One thing Gobert could learn from Favs is when he blocks shots favs almost always keeps them in play. He never spikes the ball. Gobert isn't horrible at this but favors is pretty dang good at it.

That would be a sick lineup, but not financially feasible unless your LA or NY.
4 of the 5 will be max players on their next contract.

Hayward or Gobert will be All Stars next season if Jazz have winning record.

If the Jazz have a winning record and Hayward is averaging 18, Favors is 20, and Gobert is 15, then I think Favors gets the All Star nod. I just don't think Gobert will ever score enough to be a consistent All Star.

Favors at PF will have amazing stats.

Right now, Jazz are actually better as a team defensively with Favors on the floor and Gobert off. Since the AS Break Jazz are +66 with Favors without Gobert and +15 with Gobert without Favors. Both numbers are excellent - Favors' is ungodly.

I'm gonna need additional numbers to back this up, please. I love me some D-Fave, but this team has been transformed by the emergence of Rudy Gobert. Favors + Kanter was a failure. Gobert + anyone on this planet seems to work. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm extremely suspicious of any stats that say we are better defensively without Rudy on the floor. Prove me wrong.

Gobert is a better defender than Favors, but Favors is all in all a better player.
I don't think so. Gobert is a better rim protector. But Favors can step out an guard the perimeter while also guarding the rim. I'd say over all they are about even defensively with different abilities on defense.

Makes sense because Gobert usually plays the entire 3rd (if I recall correctly) and Favors comes in to start the 4th, so he will be going against backups for a bigger stretch than Gobert.

Does anyone know how much these RFA can be offered? Is it the same as Hayward's contract? I could see teams willing to go into the luxury tax with the cap going up soon.
