What's new

Hornets At Jazz: 3/16/15 7 PM Mountain Time

Rodney Hood is shooting like he did in the summer league! WOW! If he keeps this up & improves he could be our #1 option.

Shocking to see the rise of Hood so fast. He looks like another draft steal.

Quin and the FO stuck with the young guns all year even when it got rough. Now its paying off.

Just great to see. Add Tomic and Burks to this roster, and we are in the playoffs next year.

Yeah, I think that Tomic is fast becoming a "have to have."

One role no one is mentioning for Ante is insurance. I fully expect Tomic to be a big part of the rotation if he comes over. However, we'll really need him if Gobert or Favors have any injuries at all. Having a really solid guy like Ante on the bench makes us better, but also covers our ***.

so good I caught the replay. Watching Lance Stephenson, the toast of last year's playoffs, stat grabbin' it while The Hornets were down 38 points has to be the most depressing thing in the world to watch if you're a Charlotte fan.

TRue, without talking about a catastrophic injury damaging their long term career, just normal injuries to Gobert or Favors would sink this team. Say Favors or Gobert break a bone in their hand going for a loose ball or something like that and are out 4/5 weeks, the Jazz would struggle to win 30% of their games without a decent back up.

Saw this on Salt City Hoops, enjoy:

"That happened at the 3:30 mark of the 3rd quarter. After that, the Jazz were outscored 29-13, which obscured some of the blatant ridiculousness of some of what was going on. Just so those absurdities don’t stay hidden, here are some fun facts that were true for the first 33 minutes of this game:
•The Jazz had made more 3 point shots (14) than Charlotte had made field goals (12).
•The Jazz had significantly more rebounds (44) than the Hornets had points (37).
•For those 33 minutes, the Jazz’s offensive rating was 138.5. Their defensive rating was 63.
•The Jazz collected 68.8% of all available rebounds, including 40% of their own misses.
•The score was 81-37."

Destroyed another playoff bound (maybe) team. Destroyed them. Owned them. Killed them. Embarrassed them. Amazing, simply amazing. How does a pro team improve this much in one year?

We play anything like this next year we are playoff bound anyway. Add another good piece we are >7 seed, add 2 maybe 5 or better.

Some more fun facts:

Jazz have a point diff of 0.
Jazz are the only team to not have an OT game
Jazz have the longest win streak in the NBA at 6
Jazz have the best record in the last 10 (9-1)
Jazz have a winning record against sub .500 teams (16-10)
Jazz have a winning record against the east (15-14)

The Jazz also have a winning record at home (17-16) for the first time since they were 3-2 after a win against OKC on November 18 (the "WAKE UP!" game).

Some more quotes. . .

"quin snyder looks diabolical lol"

"Damn, Gobert actually makes Jefferson look small."

"we probably shouldn't give exum 20 feet of breathing room"

"Exum is wide wide wide wide wide wide wiiiiiiiiiide open shooting uncontested 3s. Who guarding him?"

"You can really tell that half our guys are former Jazz players when you watch the Utah broadcast. Their announcers just refer to them by their first names "Marvin passes to Mo, down to Al, it's nice to see him back."

"fatlever wrote:
OK, watching Hayward is making me sad.

I just pretend we never tried to get him"

"they are 8-9 on threes. we have 6 made shots, total."

"time to bring out my calculator. can't figure out how far behind we are. might have to give stephen hawking a call"

"who the hell is that?"
"Jack **** Cooley. Talk about a victory cigar."

"Lol mo Williams player of the half with 7 pts 2 assist."

"Hood has such a nice looking stroke"

"Utah is the team we wish we were."

Team A - Pass, pass, pass, pass, open 3-pointer
Team B - dribble, dribble, dribble, contested 2-pointer

"guess which team is us."

"you guys do realize that Utah has been playing the long con on us for years just to crush us in this game? giving us all their turds. laughing as we tied our money up then picked up lance. touché utah i admire the dedication"

"Gobert has 2 less rebounds than we do AS A TEAM"

Thanks for that, most amusing.

I am almost starting to get to the point of worrying as this is too good to be true.

Where did you get these? I'm starting to like going to other teams' sites just to see what they say. Clutchfans was the best after that Rockets game.

Clutchfans is always the best. Bunch of posers and crybabies over there. The drama is amazing.

Realgm. Hornets board. I think somebody posted a link to the thread in the Hornets Fans Tears thread. I just consolidated the best ones. They aren't as delusional as the fans of some teams. They seemed resigned to the fact that they are on a downward trajectory instead of upward. I'm so glad that the Jazz have finally gotten a GM and head coach that are on the same page. KOC wasn't bad, but without DL right now I truly believe that the Jazz would be the Hornets. I love the direction and promise that this young team (and coach) are showing.
