Tomic's highlights, he might be the solution for lakers big

i'm very impressed with how Tomic developed in europe since jazz drafted him, he has increased his weight to 260 lbs from 220 lb, considering Gasol is only 250, he could actually outmuscle Gasol in the post and have enough length to bother him. This guy has the total offensive repetorie, jump hook, spins, reverse-moves, fakes.

here are some of his highlights:

noticed that he usually play in the high post rather than the low post, he could really compliment big Al well..

also notice in the first defensive end, he barely jumped to block a shot, that could be an asset jazz really need.

I say we bring tomic over and see how he compares to fes. Itd be terrible for us to trade his rights and see him be the next Drazen Petrovic

A couple things. He does look like he has put on some weight, but is he really at 260 now?
Also in the NBA he will be immediately swarmed when he gets the ball in the post.
Euros seem to give him time to get off his shot.
Plus he's not making every shot in the videos.

are u kidding? Fes has absolutely no offensive skils compare to Tomic, Tomic might be the next Yao minus 4 inches.

NBA and Euroball are two different realms of basketball. If Fes was in the similar situation with a Euroball highlight reel people would call him the next white shaq due to his blocking prowess and huge bodymass. Ante Tomic ahs potential though which is why i suggest we bring him over epecially in light of these okur inuries.

He was like 6/8 at one point, then clanked a few and made a few. Not terrible. I say he isnt completely NBA-ready but I feel like this kid deserves a shot

Does Tomic play C or PF in the NBA?
How would he fit into Jazz rotation and offense?
Also next year with AKs big contract off the books Jazz might have extra money
needed to but out Tomic contract?

I say Millsap + Tomic and then Big Al + Memo if he gets healthy; both have a low post-oriented player coupled with a player that can provide spacing on the floor from their mid-range shots.

In the end its hard to say where hed be proficient without even having him here in the first place.

He is a C definately due to his size.
i think he wil get the starting nod espeically jazz are horriable in defense in the first quarter due to lack of size.

yes, that's true, but if u look at Tomic's video, his release is very high and soft, u would never seen those kind of release by Fes, Fes is limited to 5 feet, this guy can extend to 15 feet.

Has good touch like Gasol on the J, but I saw something from that video that scares me when under the basket he is as weak as Ak getting the ball striped. I know it's not fair to judge a guy from one utube video, but that's what I saw from the highlights.

How recent is the video?? i mean if he weighs 260 currently, id assume he could stack on more weight and make this less of a problem. AK weighs what 220?? for a 6'9"ish guy thats not alot, the guys lank-patrol. But it is alarming nonetheless. As far as highlight bias's go if we based fesenko off of his play against denver last year hed be the next shaq.

I think he looks gangly, uncoordinated (somewhat), and has soft hands. He has a nice midrange and is active, but he looks like he is playing out of control. He is very easy to strip and fumbled the ball a few times on his own. Just as often as he had a nice move and a controlled hook, he just threw it wildly at the basket. I dunno, he looks like he is developing but still has room to grow. As others have said though, euro skills do not always translate to the NBA very well. Definitely a work in progress. Not sure if he would benefit from coming here or just staying in europe. Is this a typical game for him, or a fluke?
