Trailblazers at Jazz: 3/25/15 7 PM Mountain Time

It would kind of be nice for the Jazz to shut Trey down for a few games as an object lesson. That neck stinger looked nasty. . .

we just dont have any other shooters...

who do you want shooting?

exum? exum is a brick fest worse than burke.

You're forgetting something though. Burke isn't a shooter either. In fact, he's horrible at it. Marginally better than Exum. And Exum's shooting stats are skewed lower because he takes a much higher percentage of his shots from the perimeter.

And there's a difference between being the guy shooting the ball at the end of a play, and simply never passing the ball in the first place, letting nobody else even touch it. It absolutely kills momentum and takes the teammates out of the game mentally.

The dude is just a ballhog with tunnel vision that allows him to see only the basket. I can't believe people are trying to make excuses for this garbage.

Starting lineup of Gobert, Favors, Millsap, Exum and Burke. I'm glad Snyder is willing to mix it up a bit, but who expected them to still outplay the Blazers and be within one shot at the end of this game?

The only thing that irritates me is that the Jazz sucked it up in the 4th and let the Blazers score enough to get over 90.

Fine game by the team, Trey did a pretty solid job, Favors looked like he was gonna dominate but foul-trouble took him a bit out of it, Exum was too timid and I think he let that effect his defense on Lilliard a bit. Refs were not good and our foul-shooting was also not very impressive once again.

Exum has no confidence and is scared to shoot.

Burke fakes confidence and will shoot it.

Fake it til you make it. Got to respect Burke's mindest a lot more than Exum's.

I'd rather have a guy who realizes he sucks at something and hence doesn't try it than one who is so selfish and dumb that he doesn't recognize his own limitations.

Can I have neither, please? :(

You can't get better at something if you don't try to do it. That is something Exum needs to learn quick.

Kind of what I was thinking. Exum is at least two years away from having the confidence he needs and Burke is probably about five years away from having the humility and maturity he needs. We might want to look into acquiring another PG in the meantime.

Trey Burke was pretty good tonight. Adjusted from his outside shot not falling to taking it to the hoop. Refs refuse to call contact on Trey just like they do on Hayward. There were times when Blake kept a hand on Trey for five seconds at a time and The Jazz get called for Lillard travelling. . .

I know. I'm not happy with him at all. He's got so much potential and he's going to throw it away if he doesn't start believing in himself.

Pretty sure the whole team is telling Burke to shoot the ball most of the time since no one else on the team really wants to shoot the ball, especially when Hayward and Hood are out.

You can blame Burke all you want, I've soured on supporting him as of late, but you have to recognize he is being asked to shoot a lot. He does make a lot of bad decisions out there, but the team is asking him to handle a larger portion of teh scoring load than he is able to handle. Instead of backing down, he at least tries. More than you say for Exum at this point.

Even when he's putting up points I just can't stand Trey's game.

He was a lot of fun to watch when he played for Michigan. But this is a different level and that style doesn't work unless you've got Kobe/Jordan level one-on-one skills.

Which one of you ***** has the voodoo doll!

I think you're right, but then I wonder if nobody on the team realizes he's a 37% FG shooter. If the guy taking the most shots is one of the most inefficient at making them then of course the offense is going to blow.
