Ugly, but I'll gladly take it. I mentioned in the other game thread that we are improving--baby steps. Here are a few:
-first, we showed interest in winning in the spurs game. Deron was the big one for me there, because I wasn't sure if he had given up on his teammates/the season. Obviously he could have stayed healthy and collected a check while sitting out.
-then we actually got a W
-then raja hit more than one shot in a single game, now he actually shot over 50% tonight. He has been practicing his shot by sitting in a chair and shooting while sitting just focusing on form over and over and over. Looks like it is helping.
-Our energy is getting more and more consistent.
-AK has had a couple of good games, though I never expect consistency from him, and I hate when he tries to create too!
-CJ is pretty predictable. No warm, only hot and cold.
-Watson is pretty solid.
-Paul and Al have had over 10 rebounds in the same game.
To go along with all this, there are a lot of challenges that are being dealt with. Those will need to be dealt with one at a time. I'm sure the coaches are picking their battles right now with everything that is wrong.
My expectations are for the team to continue as they have and finally at some point have a game that they do something incredible a la Sundiata Gaines or Sap vs the Brons. Maybe it can be the Dallas or Boston game after the all-star break. I think it will take each player individually gaining their confidence back one at a time, and in the mean time guys are going to have relapses from time to time. Even when Dwill comes back I think we may still tread water for a while. Still hoping to eat crow on this, but haven't had to so far.
