What's new

Game Thread: OKC Thunder vs Utah Jazz 3/28/15 @ESA 7 PM MT

Heated game tonight.

Thought Trey responded well to the Kanter comments andwspois in the pos game interview. Trey said the Jazz needed a real center at the draft, which most took as a slight on Enes, and Enes said he never had a real PG before Westbrook.

The Jazz can act salty about the comments, but when it comes down to it Enes has helped out our PR department. Very few of us will be saying we shouldn't have traded him now. The marketing department should also be pleased that we have a legit division rival again now.

This is my guess for next season and so on:
NOONE will offer Kanter what he thinks he is "worth". He will sign a qualifying offer, and him KD, and Westbrook will put together a mediocre, injury filled, season. KD will then leave and sign with the Wizards. OKC will act reactionary and max out Kanter as their future team with Westbrook and Enes. They will then enjoy several years of lottery picks and frustrated Kanter interviews.

The OKC/UT rivalry will be short lived, and in history books it will hardly be considered a rivalry at all. Kanter will get his stats, and come away with the "L" for years to come as future Jazz legends have foreshadowed.

Omg. My feed cut off. That is crazy. I didn't know the Jazz players hated Kanter as much as the fans did too.

which kind of vindicates Kanter in a way, right?

1. Trey's comments at the draft.
2. Hayward and RJ being close, then RJ siding with Corbin and calling Enes out in the media.
3. Trey's mom's comments last season on twitter.
4. Hayward's blog post kanter trade.
5. Many saw plays on breaks and in half court where Hayward and Trey would seem to purposefully not pass to him even when it would be the correct play.

Everyone needs a scapegoat, and Corbin designated Kanter last season, then the media, fans and teammates followed suit.

Now Enes is playing the douchey villain.

This is al actually pretty pathetic from both sides. Kanter acting like an immature kid making it all about him, and then everyone feeding into it (myself included).

Hot Rod, though...

Kind of took a backseat tonight, and that's ****ed up.

I know we won and all, but still... it seemed tainted. Wish the commemoration happened on a different night.

Well MY mom thinks that you're a cotton headed ninny-muggins! I hope my moms comments dig deep, and you feel vindicated in some way in the future.

I like that insult because it was somewhat unique.

I just meant that parents don't usually call out your teammates unless you are badmouthing them to your parents in the first place.

I wasn't at the game tonight (which I fully regret) so I don't know how the vibe of the arena was. However, watching from home I have to disagree with you. These emotional, close, intense games were the games that he was so passionate about. I think it played out about as well as you could really hope for as a Jazz fan.

I agree, but nevertheless I fully appreciated Hot Rod tipping that first Gobert FT back in.

Yeah, he definitelywas about those games, but to me it jut seemed like this was the Kanter show. It seeme more WWF than real.

I get what you mean in that regard. I'm just glad that we didn't lose, or it wasn't a one sided game, and that it was actually a close game. One thing that makes me happy is the players will be wearing that ribbon on their jersey's for the rest of the season to honor Hot Rod. I'm sure we will see more tributes to him this season, and forever. I'm just glad that when I see his name retired in the rafters, that I can tell me kids that I knew who he was. That I experienced the golden era of basketball with him as the voice of the Jazz.

Why are you breaking your back to make excuses for him? Seriously, wtf? 35 years here and nothing of this level has ever happened, and you think it's THE ORGANIZATION?

You and the other apologists can just go live on your island where you can't be taken seriously again if you want. There is no gray area here, dude is a ****ing turd. Straight up.

Well, THE ORGANIZATION has been changing since Larry died. It's obvious they run the Jazz less as family business and more as corporate asset.
Not saying it's a bad thing, just different times demanding different strokes.

What really bugs me is obviously Kanter has both friends and foes on the Jazz team and it's not a good thing for locker room the way this tea cup **** storm developing.

Enjoy your beautiful #11!!! seed jazz fans. Sorry you are not jazz fans anti-kanter fans. No matter for Enes, he did what he always did. Loser, pathetic, jealous Booker and yes you will not go in to the playoffs and yes Booker, you are not double double machine. Watch Enes in the playoffs and count your 31 lose again L machine.

Haha post of the thread! One of the worst troll jobs I've ever seen.

Have fun getting swept in the first round. If the Pelicans don't bounce you first. The sun is setting on OKC.

very well to you fans, now pelicans can be your hero. you are all pathetic

u mad, bro?

Hot Rod would have loved the drama! No worries!

I don't hate Enes - even after his pre-game comments and his double-down post game. It's sports. He feels slighted, and three years of Corbin will do that. I thought that he was turning a corner under Snyder, but then he made his trade hopes public and the Jazz gave him to the Thunder (IMO) for peanuts.

Had I been calling the shots, I wouldn't have made the trade. I'd have elevated Gobert to the starting job, used Kanter as an off the bench scorer, kept trying to improve his defense, not relied on him any more than they do with Booker/Evans now, given him the QO and dared him to find a deal that I wouldn't match, still added Tomic on the full MLE ($5 million per for 3 years) and then made him play out his QO or get something back in a sign and trade.

I wish Enes would have played for the Jazz like he's playing for the Thunder right now. If used correctly, he would have been a solid contributor for this team (as the 3rd big.) he brought some attitude tonight. Had he really shown that in the past 3 & 1/2 years, I doubt the Jazz would have traded him for what they did. While he was a mess on defense, I think he would have been awesome off the bench paired with Gobert most of his minutes.

You mean as a late-game liability that teams can attack with impunity? He's been that.

Oh, you mean productive, passing the ball, and generally looking alive? That was never going to happen. Enes made up his mind on draft night, you ****ing heard him. He mailed it in and had no desire to see his situation differently. **** him. Spoiled garbage person.
