How much would you bet that the Jazz will win a championship in the next four years?

Keeping in mind that different people have different disposable budgets, how much would you bet if your buddy came up to you and wanted to bet against a championship? How much would you risk in the hopes or belief that the Jazz will win it all?

I would lay down $200 today on that bet, but I am stoned to bejesus on our players, coach and front office.

Straight up 1:1 odds.

If given 1,000,000:1 odds I'd beg borrow and steal all the money I could get my hands on.

I think the better question than how much would we bet would be how likely we think it is and how confident are we in our assessment. Then we can figure out the tipping point of odds offered at which we'd be willing to put down a little of our disposable income.

At 1:1 odds I think that gives a pretty good indication of how strong your belief is that the Jazz can get it done within four years. We're not talking about hitting a huge payout on ****ty odds, it's about your faith in this team.

My reasons for $200-worth of confidence:

1. Quinn Snyder is the best coach in the league
2. Rudy is going to improve and has the nasty to lead this team
3. Favors is going to improve
4. Hayward wants it bad
5. Dante will shock everyone with his development
6. Hood will be a very, very good player
7. Jingles will be the glue
8. Our depth will be "Bad Boys" Pistons-like
9. Booker, Burks, Lilsap and the assorted rally-churro's
10. The Jazz fans will rally behind this team like no other starting next year, when the casual fans pull their head out and realize what we have

I'd lay down a $10-$20 "pride" bet. I would go in knowing I was making a bad bet.

I'm not a betting man, but if I were...

I probably would only take the bet if I got 10:1 odds or better.

So a "pride" bet is all we've got so far? Did you guys miss the part about the Jazz having the best defense in the league? That's not gonna change next year. What about the fact that this team was basically thrown together this year? There is a lot of improvement still to come. What about the fact that nearly every player is brimming with confidence? Quinn is a magician. This ain't no ****in "pride" bet situation!

Do you know how much a bookie would make if he could talk kool-aid drinkers like yourself into making 1:1 bets like this?

That said, put me down for $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.

A 1:1 bet on any team winning the championship is a bad bet.

Anything could happen. Most teams are one serious injury away from sucking.

10 bucks? Oh ye of little faith. Besides my million-bazillion, I will throw in lefty and my second born. Jazz gonna shock the world.

All depends on the odds. 1:1 I wouldn't even bother with. If I was going to put down a significant amount (hundreds-thousands) I'd probably need 10:1

A 1:1 bet on it happening in the next four years, not in any one season.

They make the playoffs next year, 2016, right? Maybe even win their first round?

In 2017, second round or even WCF.

Leaves them two more years, 2018 and 2019 to win a title.

It's staggering how well they played the good teams in the second half of the season, with every team that they came up against aware of how good they had become and not wanting to be the next good team to lose to them. With the top teams we beat this year, we are already close to being a top threat.

This team has it in them to shock the world in a few years.

And seriously, no one willing to bet more than $10? How little faith the Jazz faithful have.

At 25:1 for them to win it all in the next 4 years, Id throw at least couple hundred down. If I could spare a grand, then that.
