Following potential 2015 draftees

Stanley Johnson is supposed to be declaring... thats a big one.

I posted this in another thread, but thought it would be appropriate here as well.

Here's some out of the box thinking that just might work. I know we all love Burks, but we don't know how he will fit in this system. He is a good scorer on a reasonable contract. If we knew we could sign Carroll for less, I think he would be a great option. Played for Quinn and loved it, already knows Utah, and great defender. Then trade Burks and #12 to move up to 6-7 range and draft Hezonja.

You get a better defender at probably a lower salary who would fit perfect, and you get your great shooter/scorer Hezonja.

Exum/Hayward/Carroll/Favors/Gobert. Possibly best defensive starting 5 in the league.

Burke/Hezonja/Hood/Booker/Tomic. Lacks a bit of defense, but they will be fine against backups, and have a lot of scoring punch.

Cotton/Milsap/Ingles/Motum (just cause he's australian) to fill in garbage time and for injuries

Which duo would everyone prefer

Burks/Oubre

Burks/Stanley Johnson (giving up 2016 first and 2015 second)

Carroll/Hezonja (Trade Burks/Filler and #12 to move up to 6-7 and sing Carroll as FA)

I get that we probably can't bank on Carroll, as the draft is before FA though.

Of those options, I think we would all take the Carroll/Hezonja duo.

The Jazz FO obviously thinks pretty highly of Burks. I really don't think they'd be willing to package him and our pick to move up into the 6-8 range. If they could flat out swap Burks for Hezonja (and filler), I think they might do it though.

Burks/Oubre is my choice

Oubre has just as much upside as Hezonja. Dont see Demare signing here, dont know why he would leave where he is at unless its way more money and if he leaves for more money other teams are going to offer more than us. I also dont think giving up Burk for an unproven rookie who could just as easily be a bust as a viable player is a smart choice.

I don't know, he had high praise for Snyder, and played here before. Not out of the realm of possibility. But its all hypothetical as the draft happens before FA, so can't trade Burks for a rookie without having comparable veteran to take his place. We could actually possibly sign him to a 3 year deal and have more cap relief for when we have Exum/Hood/Favors/Hayward all coming off the books as well.

Nah, Hezonja is more athletic, bigger, and a better shooter.
