What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

I caught up on some watching recently and saw:

August: Osage County (2013

I'm a huge Streep fan so it doesn't take much for me to watch one of her projects. I enjoyed the movie with it's themes of family dysfunction, addiction and death. Some of the critics complained that there was too much acting going on. I don't know.

It got a surprising 64% on RT. I thought it should have rated a little bit higher.

I quite liked it. There was no Nic Cage so I thought the acting was fine.

What does "too much acting" mean? Isn't that what actors do?
I reckon that they considered it too much like an onstage production.

I liked Osage County too. The acting was good and it was pretty funny. I'd have given it around 75 or so on the tomato meter.

Then "Doubt" would also suffer from too much acting? In fact there was nothing in the movie BUT acting.

Watched "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night". I didn't like it as much as I thought I would have but it's still great for a debut film.

Just saw this last night.

Liked parts of it, but not all of it. I think you know what I mean. There are some memorable scenes with some lovely tunes (nice soundtrack), but those are a bit too few and far between.

Just saw True Story.
I really liked it a lot, up until the ending.
Didn't like the ending at all

Finally saw interstellar. I liked it. McCoughnagheyhey is really stepping up his game. Thought he gave a great nuanced performance.

Soundtracks were pretty meh to me.

An Autumn Afternoon

Watched this last night. A lovely contemplative piece about the finite nature of life, of the importance of family and sacrifice. It was the last film directed by Ozu before dying of cancer. Highly recommended if you're into the Japanese culture. It literally does feel like watching a masterpiece Art work being created right before your eyes. It left me thinking and contemplating a lot about where I am with my life, where I was and where I want to be in the future.

I hate that there are so many superhero movies out there and not one of them is original. Outside of Chronicle and Unbreakable, is there anything that is not based on a comic book? How many more films are we going to see before the genre finally dies? And I would actually like the films if they weren't shoved down my throat. Do something original for ****s sake.

This angry little rant was because my friends who I talk about films won't understand my hate and I have to watch all the marvel movies to get up to date for Age of Ultron so we can watch it together. What they don't really understand is I will complain and complain and make it hell for them.

I thought Kickass was original?

So ultimately it would be better for them to not watch Age of Ultron with you?
