Just curious, did anyone not vote for Stock or Malone?

Did you ever notice that this is a Utah Jazz forum?

It is actually called JazzFanz...the subtitle is a Utah Jazz fan community. So you could say that this is for all Jazz Fans, and part of a larger community of Utah Jazz fans as well.

In that case the inclusive thing is not working because I have never once encountered a single New Orleans Jazz fan on this site. For those old enough to recall the origins of the Utah Jazz, New Orleans was an absolute joke of a franchise. Their first few years in Utah it looked practically inconceivable that the organization could ever be turned around. They were hideous... but after Larry got involved, Checketts became the GM, Layden became the coach, and an entirely new group of players was brought in the Jazz slowly became a legitimate NBA team.

The only meaningful assets that Utah retained fro New Orleans (that I'm aware of) were the nickname and Hot Rod Hundley. I'm pretty sure that they also kept a trainer who Hots called Don "Magic Fingers" Sparks and maybe a couple of back office personnel, but that's all.

Maravich was an amazing player to watch in his prime (which was definitely not with the Utah Jazz), but you guys would have despised him if he was playing on a team you were trying to cheer for. There is no way that he deserves a place on the top 5 Jazz players of all time list.

So? Maybe you just misunderstood the original question. So should all of the fans not from Utah be banned? Is that what you are saying?
Yes. I was trying to say that you cannot be a fan of a team unless your feet are permanently buried in the dirt of whatever location the team is based in even though my actual post didn't say anything whatsoever about where the fans were located. How incredibly insightful of you to extract that sort of information out of my clumsy wording. You certainly have an amazing skill for reading between the lines.

The five seasons of the Jazz in New Orleans are part of our history. There is no way to deny it. It was the Jazz organization.

So it's fair he be on the list.

For me is strange, teams changing their hometown. Moving to another place. But i understand the culture there..

And i swear. I'm a Jazz fan. Even not being from Utah.

I love Utah, i'm proud of the fans.. It's a perfect place for the Jazz.

What are y'alls voting criteria?

Mine (in order of importance):

1. Playoff Success
2. Impact on Winning
3. Longevity
4. Raw Statistical Output

I feel like some people are over-valuing stats and not caring about winning.

My criteria is understanding the game of basketball and showing it on court. Pistol looks pretty awesome of a basketball player.

If we are going by player success not just with the Jazz then what about Derek Fisher. Don't get me wrong I hated him the whole time he was here, but if we're not just talking about the players while they were with the jazz he has to be considered.

This is what the offseason is all about on JazzFanz: Pointless polls, useless debates, and senseless arguments.
