Following potential 2015 draftees

Or a good GM says that Wisconsin was one of the slower/half-court teams in college and the NBA game would open up a lot for Dekker and he could be good. It's not like that is his only very good performance. Dude has had many throughout his career.

He's not a good shooter from three went like 80% in that game... It was an outlier. My point was not that he's not good but that you don't rely on one game.

All P3 is for these dudes right now is combine training fluff. They workout specifically for the vertical and agility testing to wow scouts.

Yeah those muscles they build won't help them in an athletic competition such as basketball. And all that shooting practice frank is doing is BS too.

Daryl Morey on the Grantland Basketball Hour said defense is the next inefficiency in the marketplace. All of his moves this year were defense related. Who of the players available are the best defenders?

Looney, Johnson, and Oubre.

Kaminsky... the best defense is a good offense its the next inefficiency after this one.

Also, if he really thought that was the next one he wouldn't say it... I think that's the most recent one. Interesting thought though.

Was kidding on the kaminsky part if that is not apparent.

Unless we get Frank, or Stanley Johnson I'm not expecting any of these guys to help us much next year.

Gut feeling having watched him a lot. I just don't see great skill that sets him apart from tons of other guys. I like him.. but NOT in the lottery.
I don't love Frank, but I see a much better translatable skillset.

A 6'10 guy that can stay in front of SFs is a 'stand out' trait to me. As is shooting 42% from 3 as a freshman big.

From what I can discern, his offensive skill set was held back/hidden in college more than the other freshman in discussion with our pick. There were flashes of his abilities at UCLA, but I think he's got more in his repertoire than he was consistently able to showcase there. The UCLA offense and guard play has been pretty putrid. Don't get me wrong, he's gonna be a project, but there's certainly something there that a coach like Snyder could mold into an essential cog of this team.

some times you wonder if being a Jazz fan during the draft is like being a masochist.
(Googling masochist.....)

Huh, I always thought it was something to do with being sexist.

Yes I agree, being a jazz fan is like being a masochist

List of players not attending the combine at all:

Okafor (declined)
Towns (declined)
Mudiay (declined)
Porzingis (still playing ACB ball)
Hezonja (still playing ACB ball)

All our realistic targets should get measured, athletically tested, and hopefully play 5 on 5.

From what I hear the top 20-30 prospects will be exempt from 5-on-5. Kind of a bummer... I guess that means, mostly second rounders. It is also weird to know how exactly are those "top 20-30" decided and who decides who the top players.
