What's new

Wells Report concluded that the Patriots violated rules and Tom Brady was aware

And this is why the penalty was not severe enough. The cheating combined with not cooperating added with attacking the investigator because of the finding's should have been more harshly punished.

I wanted a year for Brady. But NFL suspensions are a joke.

you are crazy. ray rice knocks woman unconscious and he got 2 games. brady actually need to sue NFL for tampering his football on Jets game. refs over inflated brady's ball to 16psi.

Personally I love it. Suck it Pats and suck it Pats fans! Now brady and Belicheck will always have a * by their name as cheaters. hahaha

they already had * because of spygate. that didn't stop them from going to 3 more SBs. let's say brady wins 1 more SB. the whole world will forget about this and just accept brady as one of the greatest QB ever.

anyway, nobody really gives a damn when jerry rice cheated his entire career with stickum. why? because people already know he is great.

brady hate will die down eventually. it takes time. maybe in 7-8 years.

The Patriots probably weren't cheating though guys. This probably had little to no effect guys.

I love Patriots fans.

that's a ridiculous accusation. guess what happens when you fumble? BB takes that guy out. and brady played 3 perfect games - all with overinflated or perfect ball

1. jets game - ball was 16psi
2. 2nd half colts game - brady was perfect
3. SB - MVP performance against the best D in the league.

and let's say brady really cheated and played with 11psi ball. guess what? sports science proved that it actually has many disadvantages. also rodgers admitted that he wants 16+ psi ball. guess what? over inflated football is harder to catch if you are not a WR meanings those sure INTs are drops because more often than not DBs have stone hands.

this whole thing is a joke. nobody ever mentions how vikings heated their football against the packers. nobody gives a crap when brad johnson bribed officials, so he can tamper his football eve of SB.

if alex smith or carson palmer did this this is a non story. it may not even be a footnote on espn. but somebody wanted pats to go down, so they didn't even warn the team, and just blitzed pats in AFCC game. they could've easily warn pats, but of course they didn't. they wanted to embarrass the pats.

what a joke. people disgust me. i'm not even a pats fan, and i get that people hate pats. but it is still disgusting.

You're right man. Several years worth of data means nothing. ****, it's crazy how a guy like Benjarvus Green-Ellis never fumbled in NE, and then magically fumbled something like 5 times in 2 years with Cinci. Pure coincidence.

I agree with a year for him. I also fail to see how Belicheat gets off scott free. The NFL suspended Peyton for a full year with no proof of wrong doing just because not knowing was not an excuse. I am also disgusted that the Patriots themselves actually make money in this deal. They will save 1.8M by not paying Brady and their fine was 1M. How can they get busted for employing guys who cheated and basically get paid to do it?

Mark me down as a guy who thinks Brady deserves the 4 game suspension (if not more) for messing with the integrity of the game. Do others do it? Absolutely, but they didn't get caught. Brady did, time to pay the price and for the NFL to make an example of somebody in an effort to dissuade things like this from happening again.

Also mark me down as a guy who is PRAYING that Brady loses his appeal and decides to sue the NFL. The thing about Brady refusing to provide select text messages and a 2nd interview for the Wells Report is that the NFL does not have subpoena power, thus they couldn't force him to show anything. The second Brady takes the NFL to court, the league gets to subpoena those records in an effort to defend their decision. I'd love for the NFL to get full, unimpeded access to Brady's phone.

The punishment must fit the crime! You take a life, you pay for it with you own life! A deflated football so small that it's unnoticeable to the naked eye and has NO impact whatsoever or advantage to the offense whatsoever or disadvantage to the defense does not warrant a 4 game suspension! I don't like the Patriots but think Brady is an excellent quarterback, so I'm looking at this from an objective view point! 1 game would have been ok by me, but even that seems excessive to a large extent! This will be discussed back and forth for the next 3 months or until the NFL football season starts again in Sept. More time and energy will be devoted to this topic than the O.J. Simpson trial!

Marshawn lynch fumbled twice more as a seahawk than as a bill. i guess bills deflate footballs too.
and by your logic, stevan ridley shouldn't fumble so damn much. after all he is playing with a deflated football.

taking care of the football is patriot's #1 objective. Brady is allergic to throwing INTs. a great team takes care of football.

again you are accusing a guy with a zero evidence. seriously. if brady ordered them to deflated the ball to below 12.5 then fine. suspend him. but the league can't prove brady ordered them.

and this only counts the 'lost fumble'.

and hey look, i guess peyton manning deflates his football too.

2009-2013 Patriots: 156 plays/fumble
2006-2010 Colts: 156 plays/fumble

4 year stretch and same number.

great teams with great QBs turn the ball less. and that helps the fumble rate Because, Manning and Brady are generally among the quickest in football at getting rid of the ball when dropping back to throw - always in top 3 in that category.

is this mean ravens and giants defated their footballs too?

fumble per reception rate

you obviously didn't read the report. it's an evidence of 2 employees texting to each other. show me where brady told them to deflate the ball.
Well conveniently Brady refused to cooperate. IMO this suspension has as much to do with that as proof that he knew. But I'll ask you what I have never seen a good answer to. Do you think the QB could fail to notice that the ball was underinflated? And WTF would these 2 nobodies care about the air pressure?
.
When I play basketball you can tell the ball is under inflated in seconds. The defense of the Colts realized it was deflated when they picked it off. They had noticed in a previous game that it was deflated. So how the **** can the guy who handles the ball 70+ times a game not realize it. In summary thinking he didn't know is naïve.

Brady is so hated because

1. let's be honest. he looks like a GQ model.
2. he dates supermodels
3. he acts arrogant on the football field
4. he beats your team all the time
5. he wears uggs

it's so easy to hate him.

6. he cheats
7. he plays for a cheater (Belicheck)
8. He's a pompous prick.
9. and he's good.
I understand there are reasons to hate him. But he cheated here. I'll say again to think he didn't know/ order it is naïve. I think this goes to the integrity of the game every bit as much as the Saints fiasco and spy gate. How Belicheat gets away without a punishment in this is a joke. Brady deserved at least these 4 games for not cooperating. I'll say that if the NFL felt they had 100% proof that Brady did this he'd be out for an entire year. The fact that it is even a little questionable probably saved him 12 games of suspension. To me this is worse than players using a little pot in their free time. Because that has no effect on the actual games and this does.
