What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Mad Max - That is one bat**** crazy movie. Some of the craziest imagery you'll ever see in a movie. Maybe only 5 minutes where it wasn't total balls to the wall action. I really liked it.

Going to see it tonight. Been watching the older movies this past week to get ready for it.

I saw this last night too. Amazing, fantastic, entertaining movie.
Multiple times in the movie I thought "this is the climax, the grand finale, can't top this"......... Then they did over and over again.

Despite all the action, it was also a pretty good story with some decent emotional value as well. Also had some legit lolz In it too.
Should (but won't) win a Damn Oscar

I put this on my netflix queue about 18 months ago after reading this Steven Hyden article on Grantland about the "Greatest Prank Ever Pulled."

https://grantland.com/features/windy-city-heat-10-years-later-history-comedy-store/

Sure enough, time passes and this worked its way to the top. The film is essentially a feature length prank pulled on one exceptionally dim-witted jerk to make him think he's the star of a movie that, in actuality, doesn't exist. This mostly involves putting him through humiliating exercises, like repeatedly filming a "stunt" in which he has to be dumped repeatedly into a trash can full of increasingly high levels of manure. I'm not sure I enjoyed it, but I'm glad I watched it.

I assume you'll have to get used to dubbed films, or english films with German subtitles.

Nah there is a theater here that shows the original version of the bigger films. They showed Avengers (albeit in 3D which I really hate) and now they have Mad Max. No subtitles or nothing. But it is interesting to see what parts of the movie in English the predominantly German audience reacts to. It is kind of funny how different it is.

Mad Max Fury Road - 10/10 - can't fault it. One of the best movie I've seen this year.

Honestly, one of the best movies I have seen in a few years

I have to say Mel Gibson's Max > Tom Hardy's Max though.

It's awful tough to top the original, especially when the original is so iconic.

Man, I was actually a little disappointed by Fury Road, but Road Warrior is one of my favorite movies ever, so maybe my expectations were too high. It was good, but I felt they could have cut down on the driving scenes and put more into the story. Good movie, but not great IMO.

Ok maybe I have to go see Mad Max here. Was gonna wait for the DVD but it is playing in OV in this theater here.

Another thing about German theaters. They do not put butter on popcorn. They ask you if you want the popcorn salty or sweet. The salty has some salt sprinkled on it. Basically salted packing peanuts, and barely salted at that. The sweet is marginally better but the flavor is off somewhat. Like a weird undersalted and undersweet version of kettle corn minus the crunchiness. Weird. And they don't put ice in their drinks at all. I mean they don't even have ice available for the drinks.

I thought this walking out of the cinema as well, but then for an action genre type of movie there is more than enough story there I thought than most action movies... so yeah... hard to say, may be 10min. more of the story at the end would have made it a bit better.

I assume Mad Max is pretty big in USA. I have never heard of it till the new movie came out.

Saw John Wick. Pretty meh.

I go to a movie theater about once every 4 or 5 years.....but I'll probably go see the new Jurassic Park movie coming out in June! Is it 3-D?

If you are cultured, classy and literate like myself and don't mind subtitles the you should probably watch The Hunt.

Great movie, great acting, great ending. One of the best I've seen in recent memory.

Unpopular opinion time: Mad Max: Fury Road was a fun movie but ultimately it's a two-hour car chase film. We will not be lamenting when it doesn't get a mention at Oscar time. As a late-installment of a B-level action franchise, it isn't even as good as 2013's Riddick. It certainly is not worthy of a 98% Rottentomatoes rating; higher than Die Hard and Terminator 2 which are the consensus best films in the whole action genre. Hell, it's got better reviews than Casablanca.

Flame-throwing double guitars are cool. Now lets get sane about how "good" this movie is.
