Following potential 2015 draftees

Could Frank become best three point shooter in league?
His mechanics and quick enough release look very solid.
Well maybe not the best ( Curry) but in the top five.

Nearly everyone on this board felt nearly the same way. I can only think of about 3 other people besides myself who didn't like it.

I can't tell you exactly why I didn't like him. I'm also not saying that I'm some sort of perfect evaluator of talent either.

What I am saying is that sick feeling I got when the trade was unofficially announced is the same feeling I get when I think about the Jazz drafting Frank at 12. I'd be happy with him much lower (like the early 20's) but there are too many other players I personally would rather see the team gamble on rather than settling for Frank.

Yes, if the Jazz draft Frank at 12 then I believe they are settling, the same way the settled for Trey.

I was one of those three. I thought it was overpaying for Burke, I really started worry when Detroit passed on him. They needed a PG and he was from Michigan yet they passed. The thing that made that bearable was the fact the Jazz got Rudy. I am not a big fan of Frank, quite frankly I haven't seen too much of him but there are other guys I like before him. I wouldn't hate the pick but I would be ok with it.

Whoa whoa whoa.... Non one is allowed to be a bigger frank homer than me... No. One.

For those that have the time - here's a great podcast from RealGM featuring Sam Vecenie and Danny Leroux about series of draft prospects, they love a lot of the prospects in our range. They think Kaminsky is going to be a tremendous offensive player and the fit with Utah would be amazing. Leroux mentions RJ Hunter and thinks if we manage to somehow get both Kaminsky and Hunter our rotation would be "filthy". They also talk about Portis, Lyles...

I could definitely see Hunter being a great pickup if he goes past 20. Think he could really benefit from not being a #1 option and is more suited to be a role player.

Decent podcast... That Danny guy though... his voice kills me. Sounds like a younger Brian Windhorst (who I also can't stand).

This video is proof that Frank will likely shoot 100% in da NBA. Did not miss one shot.

Seriously though this is a good video. Don't understand the people who don't think his offensive game will translate. It wasn't like he made shots because the guys he was shooting against were younger than him.

To me he sounds like Andy Larsen :D

That guy too... he does good work but sounds like a whiny kid to me for some reason. I have 4 kids so maybe everybody sounds like a whiny kid to me.

One of them agrees with the Jazzfanz mock draft that Orlando will take Winslow.

That was a good article... pretty fun to see the different ways people look at things. I looked at the CPR guys website... I'm not sure his model is all that good, but at least he posted prior results.

Interesting that Booker scores so poorly in the analytics models... generally they like shooters and young players. He is both, but does so little of everything else. There may not have been many rebounds to grab at Kentucky and he may have really just stayed his lane. Also, playing with the Harrisons probably didn't help. This gives me a little pause on him.

Yah, it's hard to judge Booker because of the role he had on that Kentucky team. It's interesting to compare him to the one that he has said he wants to emulate - Klay Thompson or other comparisons that float around for him(JJ Redick).

Booker's projection by Vashro is [EWP=3.5, HUM=4.0], Klay Thompson's projection was [2.7, 3.7], JJ Redick's projection was [2.2, 3.5]. (I just noticed Vashro's model projected Paul Millsap as the 6th best player in that draft, WOW).

I like Vashro's stuff more than those other guys. He needs better marketing... he should be more prevalent.

That is good to know on those other projections. I have a hard time seeing Booker as a bust guy because he's a good enough shooter and a decent enough defender to hang around the league for 10 years.

Totally random but a bunch of "insiders" keep referring to stuff that they heard about Robert Upshaw that they will not share. One guy said I don't know how you draft him at all (trying to remember who... may have been Steve Kyler). This guy must have something more going on than just substance abuse issues. It's weird that no one will spill the beans though.

Where are the dunks doe.

Ya he has nba range for sure and will be troublesome for teams to guard.
I hope he is there at 12 and the jazz take him.

Did you watch he had like 5 dunks and made everyone of those bitches... Shows that he'll likely be the NBA's dominant low post beast as well.

He did not pass it once though, so he's prolly a little selfish.

As of right now:

(For Utah)

1. Russell
2. Towns
3. Hezonja
4. Mudiay
5. Okafor
6. Winslow
7. Turner
8. Porzingis
9. Johnson
10. WCS
11. Booker
12. Kaminsky
13. Oubre
14. Portis
15. Looney
16. Dekker

I would be very happy with anybody within the top 10 & hope we are able to move up. If not, I would probably try to trade back before selecting anyone outside of the top 10. I see both Booker & Kaminsky as great fits for this team due to their shooting, but would prefer to acquire an additional 1st if we are also able to draft one of Oubre, Portis, Looney, or Dekker. I also would consider trading back (depending on the additional 1st) for Lyles or even one of the PG's (especially Payne- although to be honest I haven't paid enough attention to the PG's to really say as I assumed it was unlikely that we would draft one). However, if we were to draft a PG, we would need to move Burke (which I hope we do either way) & I still think replacing him with a young vet would be most beneficial for the team as well as Exum (although I would consider doing it for the right future 1st & rookie PG- one with good range/vision & decent defense- as Exum could easily guard 2's & share ball handling duties). The good thing about this draft is that it's deep & we have put ourselves in a position in which we can be flexible & take advantage of whatever scenario plays out in the draft, whether it's someone falling to #8-10 & trading up, someone slipping to #12 & standing pat, or someone dropping to #16-20 & trading down for an additional 1st in order to continue stockpiling assets for a future trade. However it plays out, though, we are in better shape than the typical lottery team.
