What's new

Dante Exum is back and bigger. Already.

If he is actually an inch taller, that isn't just an inch added to his skull. If his frame is still growing, it's not just ten pounds gained from eating a lot.

Not necessarily. He is a NBA player, so his body is use to burning a **** ton of calories a day. When you don't do that for a month and switch to weight lifting and light workouts, you are going to put on weight no matter what, eating a lot or not.

Wow... My prediction already came true... I said by training camp they'd report that he is back with 15 lbs of muscle... Didn't even take that long. He is the new AK (with regard to the report that he's bulked up in the offseason). What I didn't see coming was the old he's added an inch. He left a boy and a month later he's a man.

I'm only kind of joking. Cy is right about the weight... Many players lose wright during the season because it is so strenuous, but these tweets are definitely insinuating its muscle. He may be ten lbs heavier but the Only way to add that much muscle in a month is go to juice hard.

LOL - I've could gain that much on a week cruise.

Sure. It's only 35k worth of calories. Over a month, that's an extra couple of scoops of ice cream a day. Easily doable. Over a week though? You would have to REALLY indulge. But I'm sure you can manage.

One of my big questions about Dante was if he was finished growing or not. He clearly has pass-first PG skills. . . but can you imagine if he grew 2 more inches and filled out that skinny frame. He'd be small forward size playing point guard. Given his defensive potential, that extra length could be devastating for opponents.

Not really that simple, but ya.

If I'm lifting and riding my bike a lot in the same week(s), then it's pretty hard for me to add weight. If I change nothing except I stop riding my bike, then I'll quickly tack on a few pounds. The fluctuation does not appear "as fat", but neither is it muscle weight that lasts when I start riding more again.

the reported 10lbs gained is by the "eye test". I don't how much we can trust that.
edit: to be fair same goes for the increase in height.

I have no idea why people want him to keep growing. His handles are already loose. Growing ain't gonna help that any.

I can't speak for his height, but if he had gained 10 pounds in a month, it just means he'd been eating his *** off.
I've gained 10 lbs in a month many times throughout my lifetime...it really isn't that hard. Just go on a 7-night cruise eating at buffets 3 times a day and enjoy the 24-hour ice cream parlor...easy.

OMG! He's heading toward Magic Johnson size!
Exum is Magic.
Gobert is Wilt.
Hayward is Bird.
Favors is Malone.
Burks is MJ.
Jazz just might have a a very good team. :)

Never said it was hard. I was saying it would mostly have to be from fat. You can gain 30 pounds in a month if you ate enough.

Agree. I think pics would tell the true story if Exums weight gain is muscle or just becoming chubby from eating junk food/being lazy/whatever...

.@mollyfud We were on the other side of the gym, so I'm not quite sure how anybody could get an accurate read on Dante Exum's exact height.
