Locke did a comparison of 4 wing prospects. He like Hunter's numbers from 2013/14 better than this past year, and if those are valid he would pick him over Dekker, Booker and Oubre. Otherwise, he has some nice things to say about Oubre's potential. He breaks down Dekker's shooting and concludes that he can't shoot. Locke uses Booker's stats to conclude he's just a spot-up shooter right now (like Anthony Morrow).

After the top guys - Russell, Mudiay, Winslow, Hezonja and Johnson - my favorite wing/guard types are Oubre (motor/attitude questions) and RHJ (that shot though) over any of Booker, Dekker or Hunter. I just like their upside so much more than the other three. Booker might work out, but I still have my doubts.

Athleticism is a big one. He tested better than expected, but when I see him on tape I just can't get excited about the guy. I think he's a solid double - maybe a triple IF he can create his own shot at the NBA level against the best athletes in the world. I'm still hoping the Jazz have another Gobertesque home run in them while they have a lotto pick.
 
RJ Hunter is a very interesting prospect(I like his confidence, he seems like a good kid and he knows the game better than most prospects). Ideal case is we draft Turner/Kaminsky/Portis at 12 and trade into the first round to get Hunter with a pick ~20...
 
Jazz are going to look hard at both trade-up and trade-scenarios. If they stay at 12, it's likely that one of Kaminsky, Payne or Lyles goes ahead of us, leaving one of Turner, Johnson or Oubre. Jazz will very likely take one of those guys.

I think the Jazz will really like a few guys like Hunter, Vaughn, Grant and Wright, but I'm not sure it will be enough to make them want to trade back.

The Jazz are going to be strongly tempted to trade up into the 7 - 9 range for Hezonja or Porzingis. It's a question as to whether they can pull off the deal. Winslow and Cauley-Stein going high make that possible.

Agreed, although I'd take him ahead of Okafor as well as Mudiay. Out of the realistic options, he is by far (imo) the best fit due to his athleticism, offensive potential, & upside (along with the fact that he can play the 2/3 & possibly start in the future). He's one of the few prospects in this draft that I would be willing to make a significant trade to move up for. Just curious what you would be willing to give up for him?
 
I knew so little about Hezonja but man, he looks like he could be special. Only him and Russell scream special to me.

Although Turner - though a project to some degree - could be pretty outta the park too.

No way jazz can trade up to get Russell. They might be able to trade up for Hezonja if he falls 7-9.

Miami has DWade wanting a new deal that's bigger than what Miami is reportedly offering. They have Dragic as a free agent wanting a max deal, and Dragic re-signing might be affected by Wade's situation. They then have Shabazz Napier as their other PG coming off a hernia (although they have Chalmers who is sort of a PG). I would think Payne is somewhere on their short list at #10.

I have 9 guys that I see as potential impact players - Towns, Russell, Okafor, Winslow, Hezonja, Johnson, Porzingis, Mudiay and Turner. Don't care who, what pick or how they get there. . . I just want one of those guys for the Jazz. My preference is to package 12, Burke and a future pick (2016 1st or OKC pick) to move up into the top 9 and aggressively pursue whoever they feel the best about.

After that, I have 19 guys that I'd be okay with them using a mid-to-late 1st round pick on - WCS, Kaminsky, Oubre, Booker, RHJ, Dekker, Payne, Looney, Lyles, Grant, Portis, De Paula, Hunter, Anderson, Harrell, Wright, Jaiteh, Wood and Jones.

At 12, if the top 9 are gone, you take your highest rated of WCS, Kaminsky, Oubre or Booker. And then probably sit tight. Hopefully the Jazz can get one of the aforementioned potential impact players and then look at sending pick #42 and cash to move back up into the mid-to-late 1st so they can steal the next Gobert or Hood. I don't think I'd move up for 2 role players, but if I got an impact guy first, I'd consider moving back up into the meat of the draft to grab another.

2nd round should be BPA or draft and stash international guys. I'd be happy getting any of McCullough, Vaughn, De Paula, Jaiteh, Vezenkov, Christmas, Dakari Johnson, Luwawu, Rozier, Qwalls, Hanlan, Osman, maybe one of the Harrison twins and/or Dieng in the 2nd to either develop overseas or look at during training camp.

If you're asking if I'd trade Hood, I'd definitely consider it, although I'd prefer to keep him if at all possible. I'd also consider moving Burks to get Hezonja. Not trading Exum, though.
