Come on, you win or you die when you play the game of thrones. Now, let's go break our fast with stuffed capon, some honeywine, some dog sausage, some oxtail soup, some...

Martin could cut hundreds of pages if he just stopped writing about the food.

Also-- and I don't mean to spoil if for anybody who hasn't caught on yet-- but... WINTER IS COMING. Seriously. It's coming.

SPOILERS SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS

Well gregor is being worked on by that dude who is like a maester but not one (I think he works for cersie) in kings landing.
Gregor gonna be a zombie bro.

Sandor is never officially proclaimed dead and some believe that he is living a peaceful life as a gravedigger (a character mentioned briefly in one of the books..... Book 4 iirc).

Qyburn if I remember right. I've read the series twice, picked up a lot of things missed the first time. Anyways, you are correct, although I suspect we aren't done with the Hound.

Ok I am officially sick of the guy forcing situations for his characters to mention the phrase "game of thrones". Every book has a half dozen or more references to it from characters so diverse that I cannot imagine how they all come up with the same term. People from different countries and different continents for hell's sake. I hate it because it takes me out of the story. I read the part where Tyrion, now Hugor or whatever, was playing cyvvasse with the dude on the ship (can't remember names, after 8000 names it gets hard) and it felt so staged right from the beginning, so I said to myself "here comes another 'Game of Thrones' reference" and sure enough. It was wholly contrived and did nothing to move the plot along. I think GRRM is getting lost in his world and therefore is having a hard time focusing on the story.

Of all the complaints I've seen, this is one of the dumbest.

I agree that it's cheesy.

But, there wasn't a TV show called Game of Thrones when he wrote that, so it's not like he's giving a nod to the show or anything.

And now he can just let the hbo writers finish the story for him so he knows what to write.

Considering they kinda suck when going away from the book, I certainly hope not. The books are better than the show, easily.

Every book ever written has been better than it's movie/show counterpart. You just can't get better than your own imagination from a well written book, not possible. Since shows/movies usually don't use bad books to make movies from, they will always be worse.

This. Need an extreme to understand? Read Clive Barker's Novella Cabal, and then watch Nightbreed.

It amazes me how bad the movie is compared to how good the book is.

What really gets me, is how quickly it goes from "in your imagination, it's way better" to "well, we had to change it in the movie/show/miniseries".

I agree, which is why I think the idea of the show telling GRRM how to finish is silly. This season has been the least he's ever been involved, and they don't have as much book to go off of, and it's arguably their worst season. Coincidence? I think not.

Just what they've done to Sansa's character has been horrible, as well as Jaime's.

Agreed 1000% Every other season, with two episodes left, I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what was coming. This season... meh.

Signed a deal with the devil. It's what happens.

I thought they would spread AFFC and ADWD to 2 seasons. May be this is a better way to keep show only watchers entertained. I just hate how superficial Dorne characters are in the shows and I hoped we could get a Davos POV. He is one of my top 3 characters in the book.

Have you ever read fight Club?

So what about the Iron Islands? There was stuff going on that hasn't even been touched. Can they possibly cut all that out?

Have you read the books? Sorry I forgot you're one of the if it isn't your opinion it's stupid and invalid crowd. Carry on.

Never read it personally, but have heard it's a very good book.

Read it. You might change your mind. I did like it after a fashion, but the movie was leagues better. A good movie from a basically crappy book.

Same for forest Gump. Decent movie from a crap storm of a book.
