Sloan signs 1 year extension

I was in the meeting. Here's how it all went down....

Greggy Boy: Well yeah um Jer you know why we are here yeah um we think it's time for us to move in a different umm direction with a different coach.

The weird thing, He had his head down the whole time and was picking at his fingernails.

Jerry: Listen here you little spoiled prick. I'm staying another year. Give me that ******* pen so I can sign my one year extension!

Greggy Boy: Ok.

KOC didn't say much but I think this is what was going through his head.

KOC: "Even I saw that coming Greggy Boy."

I like lots of things about Sloan. But I wish he'd move on. I'm tired of always hearing guys aren't competing hard enough when things go wrong. The fact is we lack schemes on defense and flexibility on offense. There is little effort made year to year to tweak schemes to personnel. We're always too predictable and rely on the perfect assembly of talent to not win championships. And I'm not even touching the Raja Bell situations that crop up almost every year.

In Jerry's defense, his offensive system is good. The teams have good chemistry. I believe we'll get it together down the stretch. Nice things will be said. And then we'll get beat by a Phil or Pop who know what we run, exploit our weaknesses, and aren't afraid throw a few unconventional lineups or strategies at us which will confuse Jerry. Then people will say we're not tall enough, tough enough, or we needed this or that guy, when deep down I'm not sure we really had a chance because Jerry just isn't an elite basketball mind.

Can someone explain how it's Slones fault we have no shooters.

When Kyle Korver says that the Jazz don't have one three point play in their playbook, that is the fault of the coach. Let's face it, Jerry Sloan will coach this team FOR-EVVVVERRRRRRRR!

KOC specifically mentioned that the Jazz wanted a shooter when he traded for Korver, because they needed to space up the floor. He also told the crowd while drafting Mo Almond that "you wanted a shooter and you got one". While the acquisitions might not have panned out there is no evidence whatsoever that the Jazz were allergic to shooters. But for $$, Korver would still have been on this team.

"A" shooter. Therein lies the problem: modern NBA requires several shooters, not "a" shooter. Spurs seem to be able to do it year in, year out. We re-sign Ronnie (What's My Position) Price year in, year out. Cuz he ole Jer's favorite kinda guy: a hardworkin underdog. Just like Jerry was.

Billshelby is my new BFF.

In other news, in 10 years Sloan will still be coaching the Jazz, the Jazz will still be making it to the playoffs but getting bounced in the 1st round and VJ74 will be happy with that...why?...because we're consistent.
