Following potential 2015 draftees

Racist. He talks like he is from the South. You think Rodney Hood sounds dumb too? Just because he has a southern accent doesnt mean he is uneducated. Your post reeks of racism.

Dude, did I ever say anything about his accent? No I said it makes him sound uneducated when he speaks in third person, or I at least alluded to that.

Nerds usually suck at basketball tho. Also, you seem a little judgy tbh.
.
<I know how to spell though, but sometimes I misspell stuff on purpose to annoy certain people:cool:>

I don't really get annoyed when people use short text in their posts. I just couldn't listen to the whole interview with him speaking like that.

It's fine if you don't like listening to him. However, it's hard enough to build a basketball team without adding more criteria, like the way somebody talks. I don't care if the guy sounds like a Gilbert Gottfried/Fran Drescher hybrid and speaks like Beavis and Butthead. If he's good at basketball and isn't a nutcase, sign him up.

You're right, that is more important. I haven't seen Portis play much either. Hope the Jazz get good looks at these players.

Doublea confirmed racist.

LOL ... Doublea bro, you should know by now you never never question the South with Cy. He's very proud about being from the South.

I wouldn't pass him up. . . but I wouldn't take him over guys like Mario Hezonja, Stanley Johnson and Myles Turner - who I think are better fits for the team.
If WCS fell that far in very sure all of those guys would have already been drafted.

#1.Pray Russell somehow slips to #4/5 & trade every asset aside from Exum, Hood, Hayward, Favors, & Gobert for him (or Hood, #12, & draft picks). Not going to happen.

#2. Trade up to #6/7 for Hezonja using a combination of #12/Burks/Burke/draft picks.

#3. Make minor move up for Johnson by packaging #12 + (1 of) GSW/OKC 1st.

#4. Hope 1 of Porzingis, Turner, or WCS falls to #12.

#5. Trade down for a future 1st while still acquiring 1 of Looney, Portis, Dekker, etc.

#6. Trade out for a potential top 10 future pick or a young established player who fits the system & is cost-controlled.

#7. Draft bpa out of whoever remains at #12 (Booker, Kaminsky, Payne, Oubre, etc).

-Since this is the "Following Bobby Portis, and other potential 2015 draftees thread". I'll just add that I don't care for the way Portis interviews, he comes off like an overgrown middle school kid, or a wanna be professional wrestler trying to shoot a promo. Seems like Looney outplayed him at the workouts, which is no surprise as Portis is a more lumbering athlete.

-after that 39" vertical, the chances of the Jazz being able to trade up for D'Angelo Russell, sadly, are near 0%. It would take a minor miracle, and an incredibly naive GM.

-Luwawu's playoff game is in about 3½ hours, there seems to be increasing chatter that he's looking for a 1st rd promise. I have him around the early 20's and would advocate trading the 2 second round picks up for him. I'm fairly certain Timothe would've posted some eye catching numbers had he been at the Combine. Seems like the type of skinny who still will grab tons of rebounds and figures to have quite the imposing frame as he fills out. He's like Sefolosha but with a considerably higher ceiling.. If i was handling him, I'd have to consider pulling him from this draft as he might be able to crack the teens next year. The SF's DX has listed in that range in '16; Justin Jackson, Jake Layman and Troy Williams are all flawed and don't possess the sort of upside this kid does. Not sure what his current salary is though.

- Here's some interesting Hornacek quotes on Trey Lyles and Kelly Oubre;

"You'd probably get surprised at how well he can shoot the ball and how easily he shoots it," Hornacek said. "From what we saw out there, we think he's a team guy. He'll do whatever the coach asks him to." - On Lyles

"Kelly's still pretty skinny, but you can see his athleticism, his shot, " Hornacek said. "Maybe if your comparing guys he might not be there quite yet, but you can see in a year or two that he can get there.
"Kelly could be one of those guys that you say he's going to be a great player and then all of a sudden he's out on the court and he shows that you don't have to wait two years, he does it immediately. You never know.
"It's a dangerous combination when you have a guy who can drive the ball and he can shoot it."

There are numerous, and obvious parallels between Luwuawu and Nicolas Batum. They have undoubtedly maneuvered thru the draft process in similar fashion.

I know it's not going to happen, but what is the max you would be willing to give up for Russell? I doubt any of these packages even come close to getting it done but I'd trade Burks/Burke/#12/future unprotected 1st/OKC & GSW 1st or Hood/#12/future unprotected 1st. I may consider Exum & (1 of) OKC/GSW 1st but not #12. I think Exum has star potential but see Russell as a much better fit due to his elite offensive potential. I know it's a meaningless discussion, just curious what you would offer.

Just watched RJ Hunter highlights for the first time and damn! He reminds me of Curry, even his J reminds me of Curry. I think he's better then Booker now. To me Booker is not much of a playmaker and is more of a spot up shooter. RJ seems more able to create more. Is he as good a shooter as the highlights suggest? Is he in play for the 12th pick? He's the one wing I feel I can justify taking if he has that Curry/Korver type elite distance shooting.

For those who pay more attention to college basketball and the whole draft process. . . what's the deal with Cliff Alexander?

He seems to be a guy who was projected as top 10 (at worst) before he went to Kansas, but then his Freshman year was such a disaster that he's now lucky if he gets drafted. DX has him mocked to the Jazz at #42. I'm surprised that he hasn't generated more discussion.

What caused him to fall so far in just one year. I can understand major character issues or a serious injury leading to a tumble, but I haven't come across anything like that yet. So why is he being projected to the 2nd round?
