Jazz Pre-Draft Workouts 2015

Not sure what to make of Rigby. Maybe he's implying that the Jazz really like Hunter.
Serious question here: Does anybody believe Rigby knows what's going on? Whenever I hear him speak I have always had the strong impression that he is not involved in basketball decision at all. To me, he always sounds like he's teaching a Sunday School lesson to the kids who ride the short bus.

I kind of hope that's by design.

DL: "Randy, we're going to keep you out of the loop in who we're looking at. . . but we want you to feel free to talk to the media about any of the prospects we're bringing in."

RR: "Uhhh. Okay?"

DL: "I mean it Randy. Come on and swing by the workouts, see who you like and say whatever you want."

RR: "Well. . . I do like those Harrison kids. . ."

DL: "See there. That's perfect. You go tell the reporters how much we like the Harrison twins. The fans really want to know the details of what we're doing and who we want to draft."

RR: (Smiles big.) "Okay Dennis. I can do that." (Walks away whistling to himself.)

Dennis Lindsey grins an evil grin and laughs an evil laugh. . .

DL: (To self.) "Smokescreen? I'll show everyone what a real smokescreen looks like. Unleash the Rigby."

Rigby sounds like a short bus alum. I face palm whenever I hear him attempt to speak.

The plan would work much better if Rigby didn't come off as such a doofus. I guess other teams might buy the smokescreen, but if they've dealt with him at all they've got to be wondering who he has incriminating photos of. The bottom line is that Rigby is pulling in a paycheck that exceeds his apparent level of competence by a wide margin, so he might be the one who is pulling one over on everyone else.

Double cross. Triple cross. DL gives Rigby ALL of the information about the team's draft plans, which nobody believes because it's Rigby. Brilliant!!!!

Fantastic post. I especially like the party where Rigby walks away happy and whistling.

I think Kaminsky is coming in next. Seems like most of the prospects have been going to Utah after hitting Phoenix.

Harrell and Petteway are both decent. Could see the Jazz pulling a Gobert move and buying a late 1st for a guy like Montrezl Harrell. Undersized, but high energy and hustle.

I think it makes some sense to do this, this draft is deep, but unpredictable. Some of our targets, like Looney, could go anywhere from 9 to 20.
The Bulls at 22 might have some use for Burke too with Rose's knees always in question. So Burke + cash to the Bulls for the 22 makes some sense for both maybe?
Who knows maybe someone like Dekker or Hunter falls to 22

Some more scrubs, great.

We've only brought in three guys in the 10-20 range.

Hunter, Looney, Portis. Good thing we still have 19 days 'til the draft.

It means we're trading out.

No. Have you not heard Rigby?
It is taking every ounce of my willpower to avoid responding with, "Have you not read 90% of the posts on this forum?"

Damn, I just did it, didn't I? Oh well, I don't agree with my own comment above even though I think it's pretty funny, but the last laugh is on us because Rigby has somehow managed to leverage his limited intelligence into a position that 90% of us would consider a dream job.

How many of the top-10 guys did Utah have in for workouts last year?

I'll bet in the next two weeks, they'll end up having worked out as many guys projected in the 9-19 range as they did in the 3-13 range last year.

Let me rephrase.

I hope we trade out. We don't need any more rookies. The money situation is about to change and we are on the cusp. Bring in some proven talent and let's make a few runs at the ring.
