Following potential 2015 draftees

His percentages suck (compared to what I'd expect), but his shot is SO pretty. I think he really, really needs to get NBA stronger. Georgia State does not have the type of training that he'll see at P3, etc. And he has to take better shots. Good coaching will help with that. I love that he played for his dad, but there's an authority issue there that is difficult to resolve. Betting Snyder would resolve it pretty damn fast.

Great post.

Hunter is taller and Curry has a way better handle. If you watch his workout video it just reminds you of Curry. The way he is creative with getting shots off, plus the quick release.

His catch and shoot off of a high screen reminds me of Hornacek. I'd be down with drafting him for that element alone. Get that handoff from Rudy at the arc and let it fly. He must get stronger though, or he'll get manhandled and kept from even getting around the screen.

After watching this video, I don't know how you couldn't want this guy. Just such a smooth shot, he hit 9 NBA threes in a row at the end of the workout.

Here is some RJ Hunter hate to help temper your expectations

If you missed the draft previews today on the show, I talked about Delon Wright and R.J. Hunter. Of the two, I like Wright more.

Honestly. Haven't been able to get excited about Johnson. Think he's a poor mans Aaron Gordon.
I liked Aaron Gordon and would have loved him for the Jazz (although his shot was concerning), but Exum is better I'm so excited for Dante's development. If you're looking for Stanley Johnson to be Draymond Green, I think you'll be disappointed. I just don't think he's going to be able to defend 4's - much less 5's. But when I watch him play, I see a lot of Jimmy Butler's game in his style of basketball. I'd use him as a monster 2 and let him physically dominate smaller 2's. I try to project how he'd look if he stayed all 4 years like Butler did, and I like him even more. His shooting isn't awesome, but it won't need as much work as Aaron Gordon's will.

Plus he's a good kid, from a good family. He's hard working and driven. I can see him fitting into the Jazz culture perfectly. I'm all for finding offensive players if they're not going to be a liability, but I'd rather have well rounded 2 way players when they can find them.

Wright is meh, good college player, below average NBA player.

U don't understand how sick I am. Even if a top ten guy was there I only have eyes for Dekker and Hunter. I'm a sick man and need help. I'm on my knees begging because I know it's utter ridiculousness. I know I'm out of my damn mind but I can't help myself.

Hunter is super soft in workouts according to reports and can't defend his shadow, he's never played man defense.

Dekker is a meh shooter who flings the ball way too often, meh FT% project him to be a meh shooter in the NBA too. Doesn't have much wiggle, straight line drives, not enough handle for the next level. Probably won't be able to create offense on his own - can very easily turn into a role player and spot up shooter who cannot shoot, i.e. bust.

I hope I was helpful.

I like Hunter a lot, but I think his ceiling is Danny Green, not Steph Curry. He's just so weak, defenders push him around a lot. And he needs to take better shots. Love his confidence though.

According to reports he's a horrible defender, I don't know how he'd become Danny Green who's one of the best wing defenders in the league...

You've got that backwards. Hunter is a good shooter but he's not elite and he doesn't bring that much else. Not a comp but he is closer to Stauskas than he is to Curry. I think he struggles as a backup SG and ultimately won't play very many minutes.

Wright will be a solid backup PG in his rookie season. He is better than Burke and although his ceiling is lower he is better than Exum is right now.

Thats a bad comp... i think he is either a Kevin Martin type or on the low end a Marco Belinelli with a little more passing.

Thanks. I'll rep later on tape talk

I really want to do these shooting drills and then have someone do a mixtape of the highlights. I think I could convince you guys to take me in the 2nd round.

I need someone to help talk me out of both because I'm pretty sure both will still be available at the Jazz pick. And when the Jazz pass on both Dekker and Hunter, it's going to kill me knowing they were there and Utah passes on not one but both of them

Go read up on Scott Padgett. That should help a bit. . .

I don't like Dekker. He's not a great shooter or passer. He doesn't have the best handle and I'm not sure on the defense.
