If Rodney fixes his corner 3s he's a 40%+ shooter. He's actually hitting the harder above the break 3s at over 40% I think.

Michael Qualls at 43 really makes a ton of sense. I believe his personality is a match with the Jazz, and isn't dissimilar to lets say a Trevor Booker or Bryce Cotton. I think Qualls is the type of player who can make an impact in limited minutes, whether it be running the floor, defending, grabbing rebounds, 50/50 balls, or slashing, and I'm sure he can put his head down and bull his way to the rim(going right) if you asked him to. I'm not going to praise his shooting or ball-skills too much but his shot is far from J.P. Tokoto status. I think he's the type of player that could just sorta blend in and not pan out, I worry a bit what happens to his shooting if he starts out cold and I could see him sort of making those 'trying too hard' gaffes.

If he pans out though, I think he will appear as one of those "this guy is everywhere" players. Also, burying Qualls on the bench is very much different than burying the #12 pick on the bench, for Qualls it could be a blessing to start off slow and get situated.

This is a very good post.
Qualls can't shoot and has limited upside, but is effin plays a role.

I liked Vonleh too. Fans of just about every other team are looking at Exum as a bust based on his stats. Noah and Dante weren't ready for the NBA. I think you have to give each another couple of years before seeing their trajectories.

I've been on the Dekker bandwagon for awhile. The thing that concerns me, though, is he a tweener more than a combo forward? Marvin Williams never lived up to his hype because he never really found his position. Well that and his passivity. Dekker could be a very versatile backup, or he could be a bust.

If the Jazz stay at #12, I really don't know who I want them to draft. Have DL go off the board like KOC did with Hayward. Turns out most of didn't know squat that draft.
 
I know it was a long shot and not likely but I was really intrigued with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and I was kinda hoping we could maybe work out a deal to get a 2nd 1st round pick and somehow pick him up with a later pick... He is so gifted with physical length and athleticism.

I know it is a small sampling but I was watching this interview after the Lakers workout and the following video really does show that his shot is broken. A lot of shots in this video are clanking off the rim and the mechanics are so poor. I was hoping we could somehow fix that shot and have a real defensive stopper and another long player for the wing.

I am having second thoughts now.

I see him as something the Jazz don't have on their roster. He can help us be big as a sf or small as a stretch 4. He can over power 3's and run circles around 4's and guard stretch 4's on the perimeter no problem. We really don't have that. I think he has better handling skills then he's given credit for he's proven to be clutch with an NBA body and seems to play hard. I just see something in him. I didn't like him much a few days ago now I want him bad. Have a feeling about him. Most 3-4 tweeners struggle because they are too big and slow to play a ton of mins at sf but not big enough to guard 4's. Dekker looks like a 3 that can move to the 4. He's quick enough to play the three if the opposing teams 4 is to big but can guard the stretch4's on the perimeter with no problem. I think I like his intangibles most.

I love him as a prospect too, but a lot is riding on his shot improving. I think if he was even average shooter he'd be taken in the top 10. I'd get him in for a workout and have a serious talk with him in the interview about whether or not he'd be open to completely reconstructing his shot. I think he has a crazy potential if he becomes capable of knocking down open shots at about average rate at first and then take it from there to wherever his work ethic will get him. The combination of physical tools and athleticism is the best of any wing in this draft... oh... and the defense. I think he's better than both Johnson and Winslow defensively... Early in the year, whenever I was tuning in to watch Johnson, who was touted as the best perimeter defender in the draft, I was leaving more and more impressed by Jefferson.

In this Lakers workout video he was 4/13, unguarded and no pressure of a game situation. Now, the staff could have run him hard before the shooting drill influencing the results but still, not too impressive for simple 15-18 foot jumpers.
 
This is a speculation based on some of the interviews I read from Vezenkov's camp, but if he doesn't withdraw from the draft by next week(I think the final date is Monday, 15th), that most likely means he's gotten a promise and is getting picked by a team(most likely late first round - Memphis?) or early second round. His agent said in an interview that if they don't get an indication for a serious interest by a team that would invest in his development, they would withdraw from the draft. So if he's there to be picked on draft night, he probably already has some sort of arrangement with an NBA team.

Funny with video samples. I watched his DraftExpress video breakdown and his shot looked pretty nice. In this video it looks terrible. Both, of course, are not in a game situation, but I wonder if RHJ might be one of the risers in this draft because of his defensive ability. He does go against Walt Perrin saying that the Jazz need to add shooting. I still think Kaminsky might be the piece that adds most to the win column for next year--a shooter and a position of need--but I also know the Jazz are looking at the long picture and not skipping steps.

Who the right person is, I have know idea. A few drafts ago, I was the one who said "anyone but Hayward."
