Following potential 2015 draftees

This is such a great post.

IMO Grant will be one of those guys who sticks in this draft. I have a feeling about this kid. I don't know if 12 is too high for him but at the end of 8 years I'm guessing that Grant will still be a very productive player in the league over many other higher draft picks.

It doesn't concern you that Grant was bad until he was 21 and playing much younger players?

Also; Does anyone remember being on the "Jazz should pick Jerian Grant in the 2nd round" train last year other than me? (just wondering, I can't remember. I kinda feel like people didnt pay it much mind since it wasn't being confirmed by the draft sites...)

I only remember you having Len as the best player in the draft.

I think the Jazz would entertain the same deal even if their target were Hezonja. They reportedly really like him too. Don't underestimate the significance of Gobert's emergence at the 5.

They would have to be totally sold on those guys, but they're both about 20 and would develop together with Gobert and Exum. Assuming those guys all pan out, you've really got something.

I'm sure the Jazz would offer Burks, Hood, 12, future picks, etc. and put off the idea of trading Derrick Favors, but if the Knicks are working out guys like Lyles, Kaminsky and now Looney, it's because the Knicks are targeting someone specific on the Heat, Pacers, Jazz, and/or Suns.

We can also rid them of the Calderon contract... don't think the other teams in that range can. We could offer a hoard of picks... our 2016 first top 3 protected, #12, GSW 2017 pick which would give them some flexibility when free agency comes to make deals depending on how FA goes for them.

Say they used #12 to draft Cameron Payne... Say they sign Monroe and Carroll, but still need a PF... they could offer cap space (if they have any left) and our 2016 pick to Chicago for Taj Gibson. It would allow them added flexibility with their roster composition.

If you are NY and Phil Jackson would you rather have Porzingis and Calderon or Payne, Gibson, and the 2017 GSW pick? I don't think Phil want a project so if they draft to keep the player I think it will be WCS.

I wouldn't offer favors... If the phx deal is indeed on the table that would likely be NY best option imo.

It is crazy and I think DL agrees with you. Favors plus a few picks for KAT is the only way I move him.
Minny won't do that deal. If Minny selected Okafor then I can see the Lakers seriously considering that deal as long as they can unload some salary too.

I guess we should hope that Minny takes Al Jefferson 2.0.

I can't believe how many here are considering trading a 4 year vet, who is only 23, who is a great defender, good on offense and improving, Great teammate, and improving every year for a complete unknown rookie, who makes gobert look chunky when the Jazz are on the doorstep to the playoffs and are starting to develop chemistry as a team.

Sorry for the run on sentence (not really).
It's ok, there were some commas. But I agree. It's crazy to consider trading Favors. Especially for the 4th pick.

I still like Grant, he has a nice shiftiness to his game and makes smart passes.

Grant is the second best passer in the draft, is a plus athlete, can shoot, at 6'5" adds versatility and defends. He should absolutely be in play at 12.

Can Kaminsky guard a 4? If he can't guard a 4 then he's gotta be a 5 in the NBA correct?
We have Gobert.
It don't matter. Gobert will take care of it

Are you tooting your own horn to yourself?

just asking if anyone was on the Jerian Grant train last year? Is that not a valid question about a senior in an annual 1,000 page thread on draftees???

I'm 99% sure that was a topic I brought up that got few responses, but the ones I did get were mainly negative and directed at character and academics..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV-AF-88uKs - I'd cite this vid as proof. Now its gotta be near the 5th time I've posted it.

FWIW Jazzfanz almost unanimously hated Jerami too. many wrongly classified him as a player you can leave wide open outside of the paint(0-5 from 3 sophmore year at Syracuse), which proved to be totally untrue as he started the season at a near 40% clip on his first 100 or so attempts from 3.

Way too slow to be guarding a typical 4 let alone quicker 4's in the league today like Draymond.. etc.
If teams are going small then he can play the 5 right?

This is the most ambien fishonjazz post I've read in some time.

I miss fishonambien.

Have not taken any ambien in a long long time.
Maybe I will take some for the first summer league game so we can all enjoy my incoherent, cuss filled ramblings

Hell no you don't do that. We already know Favor's floor and it is much higher than anyone in this draft outside of Towns, maybe. His ceiling still isn't established. Favors>>>>>>Bledsoe as well, because he is a rarer commodity on a better contract. We just now have some players getting ready to play pro ball, lets not swap them out and restart the treadmill. We have a chance at one of the best defensive front courts of all time, especially if we sit tight and add Turner or WCS (who I think drops) and we got it for relatively cheap for the next few years. You don't trade that for a "might be."
Solid post...... Even though watching porz work out makes me hard
