Following potential 2015 draftees

Yet they drafted both Exum and Hood last year, who refused to work out with the Jazz and traded up for Burke the previous year who also didn't work out for the team... The team doesn't care if they want to work out for the team, if they think the player is the best one on the board they will draft him.

Its more about wanting to be here than the actual workout.
Hood was projected between us 8-16. There is no scenario he saw himself going 5th or 23rd. Only so much time, players can't do more than 8 workouts with all the traveling.
Neither you or that smurf guy has given one legitimate reason for Frank to turn us down. The Exum and Hood attempts are swings and misses.

Here's what I think is likely to happen in the draft for reals:

1 Towns
2 Okafor
3 Russell
4 Porzingis
5 Hezonja
6 Mudiay
7 WCS
8 Turner
9 Oubre
10 Winslow
11 Johnson
12 Kaminsky /Dekker /Booker / Looney

Kind of a worst-case for the Jazz.

Turner going to the Pistons would be depressing, but I bet Charlotte could be talked into moving down from 9 with Winslow, Oubre, Johnson and Booker all still on the board. Personally, I'd be very surprised if Winslow lasts that far.

I doubt Turner goes to the Pistons, they already have Drummond and took Ilyasova to be their stretch 4. They need wings desperately.

The same reason any prospect doesn't go to a workout - because their agent tells them not to. They try to position their prospects in the best situation for their success... If Frank wants to be a contending for a starting job from day 1 Utah is the last place in that range he should be going to. There's virtually no chance he gets the nod over Favors or Gobert in the next 3 years(and quite possibly for longer). The same reason why Booker didn't work out for us, same reason Payne didn't work out for us, same reason a ton of other prospects didn't work out for us. This thing with taking not coming to a workout personally or reading too much into it is ridiculous. I don't mind it at all. I would prefer for the FO to be able to go through the process with those prospects, but if they think they have enough information without the workout and that information points to them being the best prospect available, I have no problem with them selecting them in the draft.

Humor me (I need to see this):

TOP FOUR: KAT, Okafor, Porz, Russell

1. MIN: KAT
2. LAL: probably Okafor but could be Porz or Russell
3. PHI: Russell or Porz
4. NYC: whoever's left of Okafor, Porz, Russell (Okafor doesn't fall past Knicks)

NOW WHO KNOWS:
5. ORL: sounds like Winslow is the pick unless Porz is there.
6. SAC: no idea. Cousins wants WCS. They could go anywhere though. PG - Mudiay. I think they'll take WCS though.

Do any of teams 7-10 want a PG (Mudiay)?

A RUN ON WINGS (Hezonja, Winslow, Johnson, Oubre, Booker)
:
7. DEN: again, no idea. Hezonja? Winslow if he falls.
8. DET: they need a 3. So Johnson or Oubre. Or Winslow.
9. CHA: they need outside shooting SG. Booker or Oubre. Or Winslow.
10. MIA: a wing probably. Oubre, Booker, Winslow.

ALMOST THERE:
11. IND (or BOS via trade): Turner most likely. or if Indy keeps the pick they could go PG (Payne or Mudiay) or a big - I dunno.
12. UTA: ...whichever wing from the previous group falls (Johnson?) or if going big Mud(Kaminsky).
If Indy takes a PG then Turner falls and I'm thrilled. But I dunno how confident I am he falls to us.

If we want Turner we gotta leapfrog Indiana/Boston. Does anyone else have any ideas who the teams might be targeting at their respective slots?

True, but Detroit is willing to move it's pick, and I could see Turner going top 10 in this draft. I could see teams passing on Winslow for lack of shooting.

1. T'wolves take Towns, the #1 player in the draft

2. Lakers take Okafor, a franchise center

3. Philly takes Mudiay or Russell, can't take a risk after Embiid's injuries

4. New York trades the pick for a player and a later lottery pick -- takes remaining PG or a Euro depending on the trade partner

5. Orlando needs shooting and takes one of the Euros

6. Kings should take whomever is left between the Euros and Mudiay; could get bullied by Cousins into taking WCS;

7. Nuggets take BPA; if Kings take WCS, the Nuggets take whomever is left between the Euros and Mudiay

8. Detroit needs a wing, could take Johnson or Oubre. Conventional wisdom is that they should take Winslow and be happy; Winslow's shooting gives Detroit pause and they will listen to trade offers. Utah and Boston are playing ball. After NY, this might be the first pick realistically available for trade.

9. Charlotte needs shooting, but could fall in love with Oubre as a better overall prospect than Booker.

10. Miami likes Johnson and Oubre, takes whichever is left. Winslow a possibility.

11. Indiana likes Turner, Johnson, Oubre and picks whoever is left, but they might be gone; they otherwise take Winslow or Kaminsky.

12. Utah looks at Looney, Dekker and Booker, maybe Kaminsky if he's there.

So in this scenario, Johnson goes 8, Oubre 9, Winslow 10 and Turner 11.

BS. Frank could easily get 20+ minutes here with Kanter gone and Booker's contract is up in one year. Could make the same argument with our wings. Burks, Hood, Hayward, and even Exum
all figure to get time at SG and SF, leaving only about 15-20 min for another wing for the forseeable future. And that might be indeed why Booker turned us down.

The only possible acceptable excuse for him was Frank and his agent believe Tomic is still in play for us, which would leave Frank virtually no minutes. Look at that, I threw you Kaminsky apologists a bone.

I honestly consider Dekker and Looney on par with Johnson. Johnson's not big enough to play 4 regularly, might not be quick enough to stand out as a 3.

I agree he's a candidate to drop. So is Winslow, but probably only to 10.

I would go ape**** if Winslow fell in our range, but I think he'll get drafted higher than some people expect, that guy does too many things well to remain on the board long.
