Following potential 2015 draftees

2 prospects both misses 3 wide open threes in a row. One has a weird swinging arm action, the other shoots it consistently each time, who would you bet to become a better shooter long term?

Exactly.

Once again u are an evil genius and have roped me in the troll that u are I'm done. None of what u are saying matters or makes any sense

Again, how does swinging his arms afterward affect his shot? You've talked about it so much, that I'm assuming you actually might have an answer this time.

Of course the follow-through is affected if he has to do that weird swinging arm action right after it.

It's not a FULL and COMPLETE follow-through is what I'm saying.

Frank Kaminsky going to the Heat is certainly an interesting one from DX's new mock draft... certainly didn't see that coming AT ALL.

Miami could seemingly go in a lot of directions here, with a trade certainly being one potential option. The Heat desperately need athleticism on the wing to hopefully replace Dwyane Wade one day, but that is a tall order and not one of the strengths of this draft class unfortunately, especially later in the lottery. The youngest player Pat Riley has drafted since 2008 is 21-year-old Patrick Beverley (who was cut), indicating an affinity for older, more established players, and Kaminsky is one of the most NBA-ready players in the draft, which appears to be a clear-cut priority for the Heat.

Didn't know Riley likes older players neither.. that's certainly very interesting. I would have thought they would have gone with someone with a bit more upside myself.

If both WCS and Myles Turner are there at #12 (a real possibility after DX's latest mock) - who are you guys picking?

Tough decision, but I think for what we need Turner just gets the vote.

Hard to buy what u r selling when u compare him to Woods. If I recall he didn't last long in the league.

Dont mean he compares with him across the board. There's a disconnect with mentality and personality when you compare Woods to anyone other than maybe, Ron Artest.

I suppose I should've used "Has some parallels with", Woods is 4" taller, similar skillsets doe... There's no doubt in my mind, if there was a prospect identical to Qyntel Woods in this draft. A) he'd have plenty of fans in this thread and from scouts, possble lottery buzz B) He'd safely go in the first 25 picks.

As bizzare of a standard as this might seem. I was under the impression Stanley Johnson and next years Jaylen Brown were Qyntel Woods sized wings, alas they are both 2" shorter.

So Dekker's 3pt shooting in 3 years of college are 39%, 32.6%, 33.1% ..... his FT % last 3 seasons were 69%, 69% and 70%.

I wonder if those numbers will improve or regress in the NBA?

Does anyone remember what was being repeated about Dekker when he decided to return for his Sophomore year??

Correct me if im wrong, but i remember widespread "He's so skilled and talented" "he's a marksman" "makes basketball look easy" "will only get better in college" Seeing his 3pt% dissipate over the next 2 seasons just seems screwy to me.

Didn't Kevin Pelton say that FT % gives a good indication of long term 3pt shooting %?

Dekker's 70% FT shooting doesn't bode well for the future...

That would be a tough one.
Idk who I would pick.

I guess wcs just cause he is supposedly the better prospect according to the experts

I go WCS pretty easily. Way ahead as a defender, and I think he can play with Gobert. Turner has the better shot, but I think WCS is as good or better at everything else. Importantly I think both would be fine with coming off the bench as our 3rd big.

I wouldn't play WCS and Gobert together. Zero offense.
Then again, we could bring back CJ Miles and it wouldn't matter how much he missed. Those guys would get him about 15 shots per possession.

You are kinda limited though if WCS is going to be your 3rd big...

When Gobert sits you have Favors & WCS (not bad)

When Favors sits you have Gobert & WCS (bad floor spacing)

You can say well we have Booker. Well what's the point of having WCS as your solid third big if you're gonna have to fork out extra CA$H to go sign Booker as well? Turner is a much better option for pairing with either Favors or Gobert both defensively and offensively.

Or you could grab WCS, then trade back and grab another guy you want & pick up may be another future late 1st?

A solid defensiv Center is pretty well sought after in the NBA.

Can't see Turner/Gobert working any better. Turner cannot defend away from the hoop and probably never will. Much rather hope WCS or Gobert develop some offense, and I feel it's easier to just go elsewhere on offense instead of losing defense.
