Following potential 2015 draftees

"Interesting. Tyus Jones working out today for the Nuggets. Hasn't worked out since Rockets a few weeks ago. Nuggets pick 7th"

Rumours flying everywhere that Denver is trying to move Lawson. Looks like it is happening.

As a basketball fan I like Lawson to Sacramento or Rockets.

DX has Tyus going to Rockets at 18.

This is disconcerting. The only possible team that Denver could be dealing with here is the Celtics and their multiple draft picks. If Denver is holding a firesale, they are going to want lots and lots of picks. I can't see them parting with Lawson for the 18th pick, he still has more value than that. Celtics have no need of Lawson, but I can see them paying a big price to get WCS or Turner with Denver's pick. A nice rim protector would look good on that team and pair well with Olynyk (whom I hate.) I can see them taking on Faried as well as I think he would be far more effective playing in the East, much like Millsap is. . .

Cauley-Stein's Foot Giving Lottery Teams Pause

Uncertainty surrounding Kentucky's Willie Cauley-Stein's foot could impact his standing in Thursday night's NBA Draft, league executives tell DraftExpress.

Cauley-Stein suffered a stress fracture in his ankle on March 28th of 2014 in Kentucky's NCAA Tournament victory over Louisville, and had a pin inserted via surgery to repair what Cauley-Stein described then as a “cracked bone or a stress fracture." The injury may have occurred in Kentucky's opening game against Kansas State, until he finally heard a “pop” in his words against Louisville two games later.

Cauley-Stein ultimately elected to return for his junior season, a decision deemed as surprising at the time, but which was clearly influenced by the injury. “I was thinking about going (pro) the whole time, until I got injured,” Cauley-Stein later said.

Five separate NBA teams we spoke with all indicated varying degrees of concern after consulting with their team doctors this week, with some saying it may cost the Kentucky big man a few spots on draft night. “There is some maintenance that needs to be done there, as it's not completely clear whether the injury healed in a proper way. The pin that was inserted is supposed to be sitting at a 90 degree angle, but instead it's at 45 degrees. That, plus some question marks about his background that came up could cause him to drop a few slots.”

Even beyond any injury concerns, a more pressing issue that Cauley-Stein is dealing with is the apparent lack of need for a player with his skill-set in the 7-10 range, should he fall past Orlando or Sacramento at 5 or 6. Teams like Denver, Detroit, Charlotte and Miami are all fairly well stocked at the power forward and center positions, and could elect to go with guard or wing players. All of those teams are very active at the moment in trade discussions, according to sources, and could very well be targeted by franchises with a need for a player in Cauley-Stein's mold, such as Oklahoma City for example.

We reached out to Cauley-Stein's agent, Rich Kleiman of Roc Nation Sports, who did not appear to be overly concerned. “Willie is not stressing about where he goes in this draft, and teams that have done their research know that there is nothing to be concerned about. Martin O'Malley, a renowned ankle and foot specialist in New York, checked his foot out last week and said he's completely fine. Doctor O'Malley is used by almost every team in the NBA, including working with our client Kevin Durant. The fracture has healed and is asymptomatic. Teams who are overly cautious may want to look into an offseason cleanup if we agreed to it, but currently Willie is 100% pain free and not limited in any way. Any team that really looks at this will have no reason for concern. Teams rely on their doctors, and we rely on ours. I told them they can call Doctor O'Malley and many have already.”

Cauley-Stein is currently slated to be picked 11th in our latest mock draft.

Just say no to Bigs with feet problems.

its a non-starter.

Craptastic news for the Jazz. Don't want Stein to fall to us, want him drafted ahead.

It helps conserve energy it's a workout for hell sakes!! Look at any of his highlight videos he doesn't do that. He holds the pose through out the entire shot every time. So this is a none issue and yes u are hating on him.

Wasn't even a workout. Its just him shooting shots after the workout. Jazz done allow reporters to watch or file workouts.

With that said, Andy Larsen mentioned on Twitter that Dekker missed quite a few shots. Which shouldn't be surprising, he's not that great of a shooter. He is very versatile though, and is one of the few wings that dunked on WCS this year. He would have excelled in Sloan's offense for sure. I'd play him more at the 4 in this style of offense. Kind of like a Harpring that's better at finishing and more athletic. Not sure if he played football though. ;)
Perrin said he shot pretty good in the workout.

Denver is not in bad shape. They could keep #7, dump Lawson, pick up another mid lottery pick(and some extras), move Wilson Chandler at the deadline then ride the rookies and Jusuf Nurkick to Lottery Land again next season. Not a bad 2 to 3 season flip.

Starting to wonder if the Jazz should draft Payne and flip Burke for a late first if someone they like is available. Thoughts. I think he and Exum can play together

I really like this idea. There's something about a Sophomore Mid-Major player being so highly regarded.. how could he have fooled these scouts THAT much. I'm certainly sold.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have informed Karl-Anthony Towns that they will select him with the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, a source close to Towns told SNY.tv.

Think Payne could be good though

Or he could be Trey 2.0... short players like him have to be really special to succeed nowadays. He's not a strong guard... He will have trouble finishing in the lane, the question is would he be able to adapt his midrange and long-range game better than Trey did.

He's not Trey short and he's much quicker

measurement-Trey - Payne
Height ------6'1.25'' - 6'1.5''
Wingspan--- 6'6'' - 6'7.25''
Reach ------ 8'1.5''- 8'1.5''
Sprint ------ 3.16 - 3.28
Lane agility-- 11.20 - 10.89
max vert ----36'' - 35.5

They are pretty close...

If they want another PG, I'd rather see them trade up from 42/54 to the late-ish 20's and grab any of Grant, Wright or Jones.

I just think that the value of bigs/wings in the top 12 is significantly higher than a 2nd PG. I don't think Payne pushes Exum to the 2, and it's way too early to draft Burke's future replacement.
