Here's Locke's breakdown of Stanley Johnson:

I don't know if anybody posted this, I'm sorry if somebody did.... Here's Chad Ford's Mock draft:

Utah Jazz

Needs: backup PF, C, SG

Round 1 (12) Kevon Looney, F, Fr. UCLA
Round 2 (42) Rakeem Christmas, F/C, Sr., Syracuse
Round 2 (54) Larry Nance Jr., F, Sr., Wyoming

Analysis: The Jazz are one of the few teams in the lottery without any glaring needs. Their starting five of the future is pretty set: Dante Exum at point guard, Alec Burks at shooting guard, Gordon Hayward at small forward, Derrick Favors at power forward and Rudy Gobert at center. That starting five has a chance to be awesome someday, and I don't think anyone in Utah is going to mess with it. Burks is the biggest question mark of the group, but given his recent contract extension, they're going to try to make it work. And even if it doesn't, the way Rodney Hood played toward the end of the season gives them hope that his replacement might already be on their roster.

That frees them to take the best player available, and I think that's Looney. If there is a third tier in this draft, it ends around No. 12 and Looney is the last guy in it. He has the talent of a top-five pick, but it's still unclear where his position will be in the pros, and he's seen as a longer-term project than most. Utah has the flexibility to be able to wait on him. Someday he could be backing up both Favors and Hayward. He's one of the most versatile players in the draft and a steal at No. 12. Christmas doesn't have a huge amount of upside, but he's was super productive his senior year, can play the 4 and the 5 and should provide some rebounding and shot blocking off the bench.

Really don't feel like listening to Locke right now. What is his overall view of Johnson

-Liked his size/age.
-Doesn't love his shot, thinks he shot it pretty well regardless.
-Worried about the weak finishing, but attributed it partially to lack of spacing in the college game.
-Said he was an alright passer, nothing special.
-Loved his rebounding.
-Loved his man defense as well, thought he could guard 1-3 at least, maybe the 4 in some situations.
-Said he has some lapses in help defense.

Overall seemed pretty positive on him. Liked his effort/skill level for a young player.

Likes his defense, for some reason thinks he's a good shooter... I'm still not convinced. Likes his rebounding.

Average passing. Not great handle, not very explosive in the lane.

Not explosive? I thought that was the one thing he might be good at. Being short and not explosive will hurt him in the NBA

Seriously, when the Jazz talk about liking Lyles and Dekker, I think the presumption is that several guys they like more are no longer available. I have to think Oubre, Turner and maybe Looney are higher rated.

To don't have strongly negative opinions about most players in the Jazz's range, but Trey Lyles is ****ing garbage. A talented sleepwalking dope who has no particular strength and will fold. I'm hoping that Locke's weird homer boner is some kind of smokescreen or he might be the worst talent evaluator with a voice that I can think of.

He did say the Jazz was high on Rudy and truly believed we would have grabbed him had we not traded up to grab Burke at the last minute.

Trey Lyles somehow reminds me of Taj Gibson in some way. Can't really describe it. It's not their current skillset. But rather I foresee a development in Lyles body and skillset.

I think Lyles is okay. He's got good IQ, he's a ball mover. He'll score inside, rebound, run out, hit mid-range jumpers. He's not a great defender--Sam Dekker toasted him on a couple critical plays in the NCAA tourney. He runs a bit heavy, like Boozer and Juwan Howard, not the best mobility. That's one of the reasons like Portis better.

Truthfully, I like Looney and Portis more, but I wouldn't die if we took Lyles.

I just think that unless he starts knocking down jumpshots Lyles will bust in a spectacular fashion. He also has that thing ... similar to Alec... where he takes a dribble before he shoots it from the perimeter... I cringe every time.

My main concern with Looney is his slight build, physicality and explosiveness. Lyles certainly isn't elite by any means but he has that over Looney. If you think Lyles can be a good shooter going forward I think he is a better bet than Looney.

I think Looney is a really good pick. He can really shoot with a nice, quick release out to 3-pt range. He rebounds with great length and timing. He'll get better as he gets stronger. He can defend out on the perimeter and can defend most 4s. He has some PG skills. He does everything the Jazz would want a PF to do. He's really young and played with injuries all year for a gummed up UCLA team that had lousy spacing. I think he's a really legit pick.

He's not explosive, but he can get above the rim if he has space to wind up.

Jazz might take Lyles at 12...

for the Knicks.
