Following potential 2015 draftees

Confirmed? A team usually won't confirm shopping their star until a deal is done.

Right, and I wasn't suggesting they would. To be more specific I was curious if the rumor came from a reputable reporter with a source rather than some hack with a twitter account throwing trade scenarios to a beat writer.

It seemed like a strange path for Phoenix to consider, so I was curios about the validity.

Only way Boston can get into the top 10 is by trading with us probably.

Andy Larsen said 12th pick for 16/Olynyk makes sense, which it does.

Then they flip the 12th pick and Smart to someone to get into the top 10.

The only way, I'd accept 12 for 16/Olynyk is for Olynyk to get a damn haircut. lol

"Even though the Jazz won’t pick until No. 12, they are confident that there will be talented players to choose from, writes Aaron Falk of The Salt Lake Tribune. Utah’s front office is making final preparations for Thursday’s draft, going through innumerable scenarios as they try to figure out who will be available. “We’re getting medical updates by the day and then you have all this information collected and you have to take the time to actually analyze it,” said GM Dennis Lindsey. “… A key piece of information can swing a vote and then, all of a sudden, you’re taking a player that maybe wasn’t the No. 1 candidate going into a process.” Lindsey has a history of dealing to move up in the draft, but Falk speculates that if there is a trade this year, it will be to move down or completely out of the first round."

I really hope we trade out, one way or another. None of the guys are that exciting to me. I'd love a vet via trade or trading down/out to pick up an extra future 1st. I'm not convinced anyone at #12 makes us markedly better the next year or two (except maybe Kaminsky) and I'm ready to win now.

He moves with more fluidity. Portis is awkward.

Portis is one of the better transition runners as far as big men go in the draft.

Lyles just has a good IQ and is a good passer, which makes sense why we like him.

Andy Larsen said on twitter he doesn't think Jazz FO is that concerned about defensive issues because we have drafted Exum and Hood as the last two picks, both of whom were thought to be bad defenders. That comment kind of makes a case that we might draft Lyles.

What vet though?

Swap that #34 for an unprotected 2017 first rounder, then give the Lakers 1 hour to make a deal. In the overall scheme of things, Randle and Clarkson aren't stellar assets. You can get solid, non-draft assets for Boogie, probably better than that Lakers offer. Think about what you could pry out of Orlando, Milwaukee, or Washington.

Except that they already traded their 2016 pick and 2018 is called for as well, so they can't offer a 1st rounder until 2020. They have the best blue chip asset... #2 pick and if I am trading DMC I am not getting the potpurri of draft assets... I'm getting at least one blue chip asset.

If Orlando or Washington offered up Oladipo or Beal you could argue that might be better than #2, but I 'd rather have the #2 pick this year.

If we like Portis, Lyles, and Kaminsky I hope we find a good trade back scenario. We can get one of those guys later.

Plenty of guys in this draft are exciting to me: Hezonja, Johnson, Kaminsky, Porz, Turner, Looney, Portis, --- even Booker, Oubre, AND EVEN LYLES. Granted, I'm not super excited about Lyles, mind you, but he is pretty tall for someone so fluid. And he can pass. And he can hit a jumpshot. Lotta good players at 12. (notice how I didn't even mention the guys at the top of the draft - and still there are plenty to get excited about)

Get geeked, kids!! NBA Draft is better than Christmas!

I'm not super high on Lyles.. But most are selling him short.

All most here have seen of his actual play is nothing. Don't lie.
He played limited minutes and almost exclusively at SF. He would have thrived, much better, at PF.
His skillset at his age and at 6'10 is impressive.

Just giving the counter, in the event you hear his name called.

I don't think he sucks or anything, just don't see anything to get excited about.

Portis moves dumb.
